Grr, this is starting to make me mad. Recently, my bg 2 game has been bugged. Ill be playing the game then my cursor will dissapear, ill see the Windows Arrow, then my game will just boot to the desktop, ending my game. It doesn't just downsize the game so i can get back, it totally ends the game in a matter of 1 second. its real making me mad [img]graemlins/1pissed.gif[/img] !

I have all the patches and baldurash fixpack. the only mod i have is Sola. I installed everything in the right order (SoA, ToB, ToB patch, ToB fixpack, Sola). This just happens at random times, its not certain points in the game. Does anyone know how to fix this other than re installing or what causes it?? Thanks.

Sounds like a problem with your graphics drivers to me.

So i should try to set it at a lower level?

Sounds like a general WINDOWS (I lo-o-ove this OS!!!) problem to me.. Try running DirectX checks on the Video page.. try increasing your swap file size.. and if you run XP, then just save more often and pray all the gods it wont happen again - windows bugs are not curable IMHO [img]smile.gif[/img]

Go to your main BG II map and look for the file BGConfig, open it and go to games_--_--_> miscellaneous and set your cach size to a minimum of 400, the game locks up due to a low level of needed memory, if you don't have enough HD space.. clean it up and delete something (1.5 GB should be enough space)

I had the same problem several months ago, this fixed it.

My cache was at 300, and i set it to 450. and STILL! it did it! i dont understand this! could this be a prob with a mod? the only ones i have installed are bonus merchants and sola. should i try a complete un install then a re install? come to think of it.. when i installed ToB, i had to reinstall everything.. and so i uninstalled bg.. but i didnt take out sola, BM, or the exp cap remover.. would i have to do those manually or would the uninstall do it itself. this is really making me mad [img]graemlins/1pissed.gif[/img] !! Every time i try to play my fav game now it crashes!

Any other suggestions on what to do? at this point im ready for a complete reinstall if i have to. the only thing i changed was the cache thing.. what else is there to do??? O, if i had to do a complete reinstall, would i have to redownload the patches and everything? i got em saved to my comp..i just wanna make sure im not doing anythin wrong this time when i reinstall. Any suggestions... at all?????

Sorry that it didn't work Xero.

Try a re-install, delete it in the Windows registry (my computer-->configuration-->software-->BG II) and then proceed to the BlackIsle map and delete the whole map. Because the override follower will continue to excist if you do not delete it manualy. This probably caused the bug your experiencing know, due to the fact that several components were still in the override folder made a running failure... a re-installation should do the trick.
