Hello everyone this is my first post and I just wanted to say that this game rocks.
I'm Playing Guildor, an 8th lvl Raner/Cleric on multiplayer with a few companions:
Turok-10th Berzerker
Othella-10th Sorcerer
Zendath-10th Summoner
Mazzy
Valygar

At this level I thought for sure I could take the Shade Dragon I left alive, But I keep getting my Flail handed back to me. Trust me Ive UNLOADED on this guy. Should I just wait till I'm stronger? What did you guys do?

Your party is still fairly low level.

Come back with a few more levels under your belt and you'll be amazed at the difference! At this point, most of your guys can probably only hit the dragon with a critical hit. The dragon has a very low AC. Let your party get better THACOs before trying again. (Hitting with 17-20 gets you 3 times as many hits as only hitting on 20s). You'll also have better spells and summons available in a few levels.

nah, i wouldn't think frikaag would be to much of a problem at that level. Especially seeing as you'll proably level at least once imbetween. it might not be an easy battle but it's certainly doable

Reading this sent me right back to my days working at the Computer Warehouse, when BG2 had first come out and both of my bosses immediately bought it. I recall Ryan telling Dan about his adventures in the Bridge District:

Okay, so I found this trapped doorway, so right away I'm wondering what they've got hiding in there. I go in and it's empty, so I look around and I find this staircase leading down. The downstairs is like this crypt, and there's a sarcophagus, you know? And I look at it and it's got that little lever, like "You can do something to this." I fiddle with it and this little sign says like, "Are you sure you want to open this?" And I'm thinkin', "Yeah, I'm a Level 10 Fighter, I've got a strong party, I'm pretty sure I can handle this." So I open the thing, and then suddenly, up pops this ELEMENTAL LICH, and I go, "WHOA boy!" Right off the bat, he casts Time Stop! A *Ninth Level Spell*, Time Stop, and then he casts his second spell, *Meteor Swarm*, and I'm just like, "Excuse me, I'll be going now!"

at lvl 11 you can use polymorph self. do it to mustard jelly, and wait around as the lich wastes his spells on you. He'll eventually gate a pit fiend, if you have a ring of air control, go invisible so that the fiend might kill him, if not, wait for him to waste all of his spells. then kill him, liches are easy without protections.

Well, setting aside the fact that the guys in question learned how to win that battle years ago......the Mustard Jelly idea is quite sound (it certainly makes fools out of every Cowled Wizard you meet), but in this case, the Lich summons the Pit Fiend very early on, while he still has a True Sight. I find that it's more fun to simply run away, and let the Lich blow most of his spells on his own pet. With any luck, he'll run completely out of spells--and there's nothing as silly as a Lich trying to melee you.

mannn i sooooo relate to that.
i had that same experience , only i was a mage figuring i was just about all powerfull at my level 11 i think, accompanied by korgan and aery.
i was like pppffffff a lich....how amusing, clearly hes no match for my superior spellcasting skills.

i to started to see the error in my ways when he casted timestop. -> meteor swarm
