be a game as joyfull as BG2:SoA/ToB coming out any time soon? 3rd ED Rules and all? NWN was such boring SH*T and Icewind Dale II was way-over-arcaded. I just wonder...

Maybe you should try Divine Divinity ? Arx Fatalis is pretty good too.

agreed, it feels more substantial. lots of fantasy games are becoming more simplified with every version these days, just look at Games Workshop games eg Warhammer. I like more complexity, more detail, more rules. they allow more diversity. if everyone has basically the same way of doing anything, where's the variety ? if every character can have any skill... why bother ?

Warhammer's still just as sodding complex as it always was...

dude they've taken soooo many rules out of warhammer. and Warhammer 40k is worse. the only dice used in 40k now are D6 and scatter dice. which sucks because I invested quite a bit in having a huge and diverse collection of cool dice. I wanna use my D10s and D20s !! what about Artillery dice and Sustained-Fire dice ? why does every flamer now use the same sized template ? why can't I have a web-pistol anymore ? what do you mean my assassins long-rifle only gives a re-roll to hit now ? what about his shield-surge ammo ? what his double shot rule ? what about his I-can-shoot-anything-on-the-battlefield-twice-without-revealing-my-location-because-I-own-sniping rule ?

crap crap, grumble grumble.
