Ok just wondering ages ago i went to the gnoll fortress on the sw of the world map, i uncovered the whole map (as much as u can) but could not find a way inside? is their a way or am i looking to deep. Its just that (cant remember name) that wizard and his friend join u they say they want help rescuing a girl? they eventually left my party but im still curious.

Sounds like you may be thinking of Xzar and Montaron... The two characters who want to find her are Edwin (evil mage) and Minsc (good ranger)--for diametrically opposed reasons, though. Yes, you walk down into the pits along the stairstep style logs that curve around along the edge of the pit.

I dont think Xzar and Montaron have anything to do with the gnoll fortress, though maybe im wrong, ive never used them. as lemernis said, just explore the area and walk down the pits, youll find her. and no, there isnt a way into the fortress, its just that map.

No, Xzar wants to investigate the Nashkell mines but to my knowledge he and Monty won't leave if you don't get there by a certain time.
