I subbed out Minsc somewhere so I could temporarily use another character, and now I can't find him anywhere. I've finished the game a few times and I can't think of anywhere Minsc would go on his own. My reputation was good (~14) at the time I left him so it's not like he would have packed the @$%&#@'s and left forever. I think it was just before the Haer'Dalis quest. I think I swapped Minsc for Anomen because I didn't want him getting stranded between planes after I rescued the bard. which would suggest I left him at the copper correnent, but he's not there. he also nowhere in the sewers or the slums, or the temple district etc. I've pretty much searched all of Athkatla for him.
Is there some way I can use to locate where he's gone ? eg use shadow keeper or something ? a CLUA console cheat or something that will spawn him as I left him ? I'd prefer to locate him then go get him the normal way, he's carrying some gear i want back (eg lilarcor, elven court bow etc). I tried viewing him in shadow keeper using the 'edit out-of-party characters tab, and while he's still in there, I don't if/how to see where he is. can anyone help please ? Well, when you leave him, you have two options:
- Send him off to the Copper Coronet, or - Tell him to stay right where you left him If you have searched both places, I suggest you use CLUA. MINSC7 to get him in, then use SK to give him back the items, and as much XP as he had. ![]() |

What items did Minsc have?
The reason I ask is because I decided to remove Nalia from the party after returning from Spellhold. I then picked up Anomen long enough to do his quest and get his help against Bodhi. When I first removed Nalia from the party, I wasn't sure if she would stay at the Coppor Coronet or return to the De'Arnise Keep. I told her to stay at the Coronet, but when I searched to see what part of the room she was in....I COULDN'T FIND HER ANYWHERE!!!! What happaned was that she was carrying the Staff of the Magi - so she had an Improved Invisibility spell going. Once I removed her from the party - she became INVISIBLE to me...and absolutely NOTHING I tried would reveal her location. I finally went back to a previously Saved game and gave the Staff to Imoen before removing Nalia...then I removed Nalia from the party and watched to see where she went {she goes to stand in a corner behind the door closest to the counter}. I then went BACK to the game and tried removing her WITH Staff in hand....just to see IF I could find out where she was when I couldn't actually see her. Now that I KNEW where she was standing, I had Imoen pelt that location with Prismatic Spray (thinking Nalia would take damage and attack - NOPE, it didn't work). Soooooo.....if Minsc is carrying or wearing an item that cloaks or hides him (like a Cloak of Non-Detection), then he is most likely in the Coppor Coronet and you just can't see him. Your BEST bet would be to do what I did and RE-Start a previous game before removing Minsc...then go through the steps slowly and carefully. Also, REMOVE any items that might "hide" Minsc from you before removing him. Let me know if that works for you.

thanks Cerek, now I feel like an idiot. lol. I tried what you said of ejecting minsc in another game to see where he goes, took me a while to find where he stands though. Then I went back into the game i was playing... and he was standing right there ! No idea how I missed him before, except it's a bit of an odd spot, and with me not remembering where on earth I told him to go, or where I ejected him, I was probably trying to search too many spots at once and missed him. Most characters stand somewhere on the right side in the copper coronet, minsc stands on the back wall a few metres to the left of where Anomen stands, right next to a guard.
Anyway, found him at last so I'm happy. Minsc still makes me laugh and I've played BG 1&2 several times each. Thanks for your help guys
