My SoA/ToB crashes close to every five minutes. I go into the game, go to create pregenerated character, get down to about the attributes, and then the game just shuts down. Do any of you know what the problem might be?

Do you have the latest patches? Try rebooting your pc and see if it still happens.

So where do I find the patches at? Would they be at the Interplay/Bioware homepage for SoA/ToB?

Try to delete the content of your [PATH]\Baldur's Gate 2\Temp and [PATH]\Baldur's Gate 2\Tempsave folders.
If that does not work, try to delete the content of your [PATH]\Baldur's Gate 2\Cache folder (but do not delete the [PATH]\Baldur's Gate 2\Cache\Data folder!!). Restart the game, and see if it works. [ 11-16-2002, 01:26 PM: Message edited by: Alson ] |

I tried the temp and tempsave folders, but the game still crashes. For the cache folder, do I delete the contents of the data folder in the cache file, or just the contents of the cache? I'm asking because I have no contents in my cache file besides the data folder which has AREA4000.bif

If there's nothing in your Cache folder besides the Data directory and you have fully patched your game and it still doesn't work, i suggest you reinstall BG2 completely.
