Welcome to IW!

The only thing is that any dual-class combination MUST be a valid multi-class combination. Therefore, a ranger->mage (for example) is impossible. The only class that rangers can dual to is cleric, and Minsc does not have the minimum requirements for that.

The other thing you have to remember is that the character must have a 15 in the prime requisite of his first class and 17 in the prime requisite of his new class.

Druids are unique, they have 2 prime requisites. To dual to a Druid, you need to have 15 STR, 17 WIS AND 17 CHA.

Yes, as well as being true neutral.

Yes, as well as being true neutral.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. There must not be any alignment conflicts. FOr example, a lawful good fighter with 15 STR and 17 DEX can't dual to a thief. You must also be at least 2nd level. This rule only applies in BG1 not BG2.

After a bit of research, I found out last night that the requirements to Dual to Ranger are rather high as well. It can be done, but it requires more than the "Good Alignment, at least 15 WIS and 17 STR" I had expected.

I made a Cleric that also met all of the qualifications for pure-class (and multiclass) Ranger, and he still couldn't Dual. But with all stats cheated up to 18, he could. So I'll have to experiment to find exactly where the cutoff point is. (I could just look it up in IEEP, but I can't do that yet.)

I'm also miffed about Archers and Stalkers not being allowed to Dual to Cleric. Who here thinks that this rule makes NO sense whatsoever, and that cheating to get around it is perfectly justified?

So only pure class Rangers and Beastmasters can dual to clerics? Why would you wan't to dual an Archer or Stalker to a Cleric anyway?
