I would think that a fighter-thief is better, in way of strength and endurance. A ranger is just a type under the fighter, so if you went ranger, that would be like sub-classing and dual-classing both. I just would not feel safe doing it. Maybe others have different opinions on that..

I'd choose fighter/thief, too. It is nice to have backstabbing fighter. Besides, everything ranger/thief can do, fighter/thief can do better - this is only my opinion though and I'm not the biggest ranger's fan

Perhaps I am greatly mistaken but I don't think you can multi-class a ranger/thief. Maybe Dual class, but I am highly doubtful about that, too.

You are not mistaken, Albromor. Near as I can tell. Thanks for catching that.

Dunno about BG, but in BG2 some people has been able to get a ranger dualed to thief (i havent, even with every stat at 18), i think thats some kind of bug that only happens with a certain version or patch installed. if you want a ranger thief youŽll have to wait till NWN

There is no multiclass option of ranger-thief. I tried dual classing both ranger to thief and thief to ranger by CLUAing up XP. The dual class button remains grayed out in both cases.
