I just started the game, and after a few minutes I was attacked by what looks like a black goo. I am clicking on the buttons on the screen but every time I do, I seem to not inflict any damage. Can anyone help?

In AD&D some monsters only take damage from certain types of weapons (piercing, slashing or bludgeoning), or weapons of a given enchantment level.
Games with other rulesets may have the same deal too. |

Very true, you have a very valid point. I'm talking about the very first enemy in the game, right when I pick my characters, go up the ladder, loot the place, and walk out to the outside of the building. There is the first monster - a black goo type creature. I have been swinging my weapons and all, but I can't see any effect. Your thoughts?

I am a little ways into the game, but I have some other questions. First, when I get to the tavern, armor shop, or weapon shop, I see how to toggle the item displayed for the giant guy to bring forth, but I don't know how to take that item. Is there another way to battle - other than repeatedly clicking on the attack icons? I find myself clicking on one of the weapons over and over, but I figure that will advance that character but not the others. I have the magical map, and that is great, but every once in a while the map will cloud over, shading the picture it shows. Do monsters respawn? I went and killed all the black ooze monsters outside in the forest. I just was wondering if they will come back.

I have never played this game, we need to find someone who has.
In AD&D a few monsters can't be killed with weapons, IIRC. |

The monster is a slime and it doesn't require any special weapons to kill it.
here's a download link for the manual if you need it: http://www.oldgames.sk/en/game/dunge...-of-skullkeep/ and another one for walkthroughs: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/197187-du...skullkeep/faqs
