Anti-Climatic. That is the term I would use to describe the Improved Dragon AI mod. It had looked promising at first, when my solo Sorcerer and Project Image illusion got roasted in one hit from Firkragg's Dragon's Breath( that somehow managed to bypass my Mirror Images) after talking smack to Firkragg and challenging him to a fight.

Whistling and raising one of my eyebrows, I reloaded my Quicksave and reconsidered my tactics. There was no point using a Project Image, Firkragg would flambe it in one hit. Ergo, I had to use my real Sorcerer instead to deal with Firkragg. Digging among my Scroll Cases, I extracted a green scroll, a Protection from Fire scroll. I mean wow! I cannot remember the last time( if ever) my Sorcerers had to use a green scroll.

After reading the scroll, I strolled down to talk with Firkragg again and basically told him he could shove his "mercy" up where the sun does not shine. When the fight began, I immediately start casting Time Stop and wondered how to deal with Conster the Mage, when suddenly, Firkragg solved that issue... ...

Note to the developers of the IDAI Mod. It is generally not a good idea when Firkragg toasts his own lackey, especially a level 15+ lackey within the first 2 seconds of the fight.

Anywayyyy, my Sorcerer's 100% Fire Resistance means he laughs off Firkragg's Dragon's Breath and although Firkragg manages to Wing Buffet my Sorcerer, it does not render Odin unconscious, so as he is "floating" backwards, the Time Stop activates. Taking a moment to walk back to Firkragg, Odin casts Improved Alacrity and well... let the screenshots do the talking.

The Er... "Fight"

1) There is something amusing about 6 panics in a row, as though Firkragg just had a total nervous and mental breakdown.

2) "Houston, we have contact." Witness the power as the combined might of several levels of spells slammed into the target. The astute reader will note that Firkragg died so fast, his speech triggered AFTER his death, leading to some morbid post-mortem dialogue.

Hehehe, very amusing screenshot. Who wouldnt flee in terror at the very site of your Sorc Dundee and his legion of summons? How many ADHW did you manage to get off at him, any other offensive spells used? I dont think i have ever used protection from elemental dmg scrolls, there really isnt any need in the normal game. I dont recognize the little lantern thing in you quick slot bar, what is it?

Dundee, as Westley Weimer himself likes to say...

The Improved (Dragon, Compound, Rune) AI is supposed to (and WILL) prevent a level ~10/11/12 party from taking (Carsomyr, Fury, SotM). It is NOT supposed to be a reliable counter to an intelligent, level 18+ Solo Sorcerer...

Er... let us see, only 2 ADHWs, 6 Chain Lightnings, 6 Chromatic Orbs, 8 Melf's Acid Arrows, 2 Slows, 2 Greater Malisons, 1 Planetar, 1 Mordenkainen's Sword, and 1 Wish, and a Spell Trigger with 3 Lower Resistances of course. Not a lot really.

The purple Djinn Bottle? You can pickpocket/loot it from the Djinn guarding outside the Djinn Tent in Tradesmeet. I got mine through force of course.

Ah yes... the Guarded Compound... ...

Oh gee... an additional 5 Skeleton Warriors. I must have mowed over all of them like nobody's business. I can literally imagine my own Skeleton Warriors and Planetars tossing them around like some kind of meat-kebab.

I have not touched the Twisted Rune yet though. Traditionally I go there way before this already, but I had decided to err on the side of caution due to the Improved This&That Mod. Not for long though... because it is the next destination for my Sorcerer.

And once I lay my hands on the SoM... I will engage in Round 3 with that darn Lich that resides in the room next the Shadow Thieve's Headquarters! It actually causes me more grief than the Twisted Rune and Guarded Compound combined.

Oh, but there is one thing I am very happy about. The Improved Mind Flayers. They put up quite a fight in the Temple Sewers, and I enjoyed it very much. It has been a while since I had to evolve my Anti-MF tactics to beyond summon brainless fodder and send them in.

And what level were you exactly when you took on the Guarded Compound?

Let us see... it was after Firkragg, so... level 24.

Yeah, yeah... I know... overkill.

At this rate, and considering the extra Xp I am getting from all the Mods, I might even hit the Xp cap before I fight Bodhi... ...
