Final Battle (Spoilers)
Anyone got any tips for the final battle against the archdemon? I’ve stormed through all of Denerim and cleared Fort Drakon without having to call on any of the armies, saving them for the final fight which I expect to be the toughest of the game.
My party consists of a mage (PC) geared mainly towards offence, Oghren, Shale & Leiliana. The armies I can call on are the elves, humans, dwarves & magi. My party is around level 20. So, how should I tackle the beastie? I’m assuming that besides the archdemon itself, there’ll be scores of darkspawn to handle as well.

I used the dwarves. They kept the demon busy enough while the party wore down the DS horde. Once I could bring the party to bear on the demon, it was easy. YMMM.

Don't forget to have Leiliana use the ballistae while your summoned troops keep the darkspawn and demon busy.

Using the Elves will keep all busy as they will combine melee and ranged weapons, but they do not appear to have been allowed a large script in end-game. Use all ballistae to your benefit, have lot's of potions for your PC to refresh magic, and in my end game, magic worked fairly well. The pace builds, before the end...

I used the dwarves and mages. Mainly just kept pounding on the archdemon. Helps to have some spirit balms too.
