Yes, announced at Blizzcon, leaked beforehand, Gotta say, this expansion looks amazing - looks to be the best one yet. Look at the trailer on the site, Azeroth is being totally revamped and changed. 1k needles is flooded, Barrens being ripped apart, Desolace is now filled with life - and so much more. Plus, flight in Azeroth! Heroic Sfk and VC instances (wtf?)!
The only thing I wanted was Worgen on the hordeside but unfortunately, we got Goblins which are set to be the new horde Gnomes I imagine. Still I'll prolly roll one. At first I was nervous about this XPac when I heard the leaked info, but then I realized this is exactly what the game needs - a total reboot of the content we've seen for the last 5 years. Rather than slapping an extra 10 levels on the game and creating a new zone to further the high-level grind, they instead focused on the game as a whole. Hey, with a 3 million dollar budget I would expect no less ![]()

MMO champion leaked it a few days ago--they were correct!
![]() ------------ Head over there and take a look. But be forewarned, there are significant spoilers in the post. So don't look if you care about such things. After the break we'll take a look at some of the major points Boubouille has reported on. New Races and Class Combinations: Goblins Worgens Human Hunter Orc Mage Night Elf Mage Dwarf Mage Blood Elf Warrior Dwarf Shaman Undead Hunter Tauren Paladin Tauren Priest Gnome Priest Troll Druid Leveling Experience Level Cap raised to 85 Azshara becomes a low level starting zone Barrens split up into two separate zones Azeroth will be entirely revamped. Flying is allowed in parts of old Azeroth. Unreleased zones and dungeons, including Hyjal, Gilneas, and Uldum will become part of WoW. Deathwing and Azshara will be playing a major role in the Cataclysm that will happen. ---------------- The only things I would change is the level cap. make in 90.... just because. ![]() And I'd do the phasing for the changes taking place... (like in lichking).. I let my account kinda drift personally... maxxed out in Naxx heroic tier gear, have yet to play in Uldar.(sp?) I have a few game cards left, since I'm NOT paying currently for it. lol.. broke as hell. was my only 'escape' for a while, but I'm back to working on too many projects to mess with it. I *do* want Diablo 3 if it's ever out, and Dragon Age.. it's been WAY too long since a good CRPG has been released. I have a feeling RPG's are gonna make a comeback with D3 and DA coming out!! ![]() |

Well, yeah they were right on the generals but some stuff remains uncomfirmed. For example, they say Thrall steps down as leader of the horde, I don't think we'll know this until release. I am looking forward to it, but bear in mind it's early days and i'd say one year at least. Still, they do have that 3-4 million budget so maybe they'll speed things up somewhat. Safe to say we won't see anything in 2009.
I personally hope they don't do phasing, as it will limit the rerolls from seeing the non-xpac people. You'd have level 15's running around in old barrens and others running in "new" barrens. I was trying to think of how they would do it successfully. They may just release the "new Azeroth" to everyone, but restrict the new races and the 5 new end-game levels like they did with BC. They'd actually have to do it that way and release it to all, because locations and teaming would be affected and screwed up all the way up if they did otherwise. Imagine telling someone to meet you somewhere when you both see two different maps. I am sure whatever they do will work though, as they are usually smart about stuff like that.

Looks VERY awesome!
And the news was actually gathered by a few sources, most of which came from wow.com. But anyways, looks awesome, the trailer is awesome, the idea is great, but I'm sad I'll have to switch to Alliance to play Worgan. Check out the video at Blizzcon, the transformation from human to worgan is sweeeeeeet. |
