Well a couple of years ago I saw a RPG game called Amber in the local store for nerds.. er I mean Inspired people And bought it right of. Well at home finding it to be very ..different.. from what I and friends were used to, I desperately started to look for books..

I found the nine princes of Amber and read through it, pretty quickly and handed it down to a friend as well to read. After a couple of months I found Unicorn run or something, saw that this was actually not the second book in the series and with some distress read it. Once agains I liked what I read and well, really wanted to read more. Unfortunatley the stern woman in the bookshop looked at me over her steeleyewares and frowned at me. Me then was baseball cap, wide jeans, a collegejacket and a big attitude, looked like scrawny streetfighter figure! not the type to love bookstores apparantly .
"We don´t seel Zelazny´s books anynore.." A baseball bat couldn´t have hurt more..

Well now about eleven years later or so.. I´m still on the hunt for information on Roger Zelazny and his books, his style of writing, collections of the Nine Princes of Amber.. So spoil me please.. I know have a creditcard! RThe world lies at my paws! Until I have to pay the bills!

Anyone else like Zelazny, read his books have some useful info???

There are, I think, 10 books in Amber serie. First 5 about Corvin and 5 next about his son Martin (more magic in that second subserie).
There are many great short-stories and books, I dont remeber all titles right now but some books i can recommend are:
Lord of Light, Eye of Cat, Roadmarks, Doorways in the Sand, To Die in Italbar,
"The Doors of His Face, The Lamps of His Mouth" , Damnation Alley, Black Throne with Saberhagen, A rose for Ecclesiastes, My name is legion, The mask of Loki, Deus Irae. Books about Dilvish are also good fantasy.

Wolfgir, you're in luck! Amazon do a collectors edition of all 10 Amber chronicles at an extremely reasonable $15.40. Try the link below.

Roger Zelazny has always been one of my favorite authors. He died back in 1995, which is probably why you aren't finding much out there by him now. If you do a web search on him you can find a some very nice sites out there. I won't bother mentioning all of his books since you could check at amazon.com or bn.com and find a list of them. One thing you may not know is that, in addition to the ten Amber novels, he published several Amber short stories (I don't know exactly how many) that have only appeared in a fanzine called 'Amberzine'. If you are interested, the URL is http://zelazny.corrupt.net/amber/Amberzine.html

If you would like some specific recommendatons then ask and I will be happy to make them.

Mike

Zbyszek, I love you!!

Lord of Light is one of my favourite books ever!! Love it, love it, can quote big chunks out of it.... I have two copies, just in case anything happens to one of them..... Damnation Alley was also really good, and all the rest.....

I have those books...the Chronicles of Amber (Corwin series). Got them from the Sci-Fi book club in hard back when I was a teen. Didn't read them till 1997.

I actually play the Diceless RPG, but it is paramount that you have a good DM for that game. It is a blast!

I didn't buy the second series dealing with Merlin till after I started playing the game.

Well I found the game a bit hard to play since you only refer to what you are doing, and there are no dice, it´s more of a Roleplay than any other game I know of.. A bit hard with the little information in the corebook so we did only try it once and well we stuck pretty quick..

Thank you all for the information!!!

Loved Dilvish the Damned and The Changing Land. Jack of Shadows is also a good read. Have most all of his books in hard back. Chronicles of Amber will always be a favorite though.
