Exclamation Leave of Absence

Due to matters in the real world, I will be taking a leave of absence for an as yet undetermined amount of time.

All official DC communications should be directed towards Tarlanon who is the Project Administrator for DC.

Thank you and take care.

Yeah...Deeply missed. Manikus was the heart and soul of the project for a long time when CocoaSpud faded into the background a bit. His charm, skill and devotion to the project will be SORELY missed.

I'm still around, but I am SUPER busy with work and other RL stuff. So while I takes me a while to respond to stuff, I do eventually. :3

Damnit. Doesn't the "real world" just suck sometimes? It has kept me too distracted to even keep up with messages here and now it is taking Manikus from us. I'll miss ya too Manny. Hope you are doing ok. Hope whatever it is doesn't keep you from us too long. And sorry I wasn't able to maintain my commitment to your projects. Believe me when I tell you it was not due to a lack of interest.

I've been having a bit of a struggle surviving but I think I may pull through. For a while I didn't even have a roof over my head and no access to the internet other than the library. I still can't find work but we are putting in overtime on eBay to try and pay the rent at this little trailor in the woods we found.

It's nice and peaceful out here so I can concentrate more on whatever I need to. Hopefully we can pull through this depression enough that I can redouble my efforts at game design. Glad to hear you other folks will still be here. I'll try to make a little time for you all every week for however long I can keep this roof over my head.

I never liked this term "real world" because it implicates that, e.g., DC or any other RPG-related stuff may be "another" or an "alternative world".
I don't want to sound antiquated, but to me, everything is real world, and first comes being there for and supporting those who really need you (family - especially children, friends) and doing everything necessary to accomplish that "quest" (to use DC vocabulary ), e.g. by finding a job or alternatively support a partner or family member who has one (e.g. by caring for the kids). Hobbies like DC, games in general, sports, music and so on should help you "recharge your battery", keep up your health or perhaps to train additional skills, but they should always come second.

This should by no means be an accusation for those who don't have a job at the moment or something like that! All I want to say is, do not take DC or any other hobby to serious.

Your designs and contributions are done when they are done. I e.g. will wait for Uatu's first design even if it takes him five more years!

(Hmm, I guess I have not yet posted a complete design myself... )
