As some of you may know, I've been fighting for disability for the last 4 years or so. I got my confimation letter yesterday, and I have been approved. Too early to start celebrating yet, but at least I know I'll be able to get out of my mom's pocket. She's been paying my bills since the beginning of this episode of my life, and this chapter can finally come to an end.

It's a sad day when it takes that long to prove to someone that you are in constant pain, a pain that disables you. I am glad to hear you are finally getting some means of recognition.

How is your condition? Still the same? Any luck on the cause?

It's my understanding that SSI disability is not a princely sum. So it may still be a struggle.

I have chronic migraine style headaches. I just got home from my brother's house watching the Super Bowl, and I anticipate 3-4 days paralyzed on my couch, as nobody keeps their house as dark as I keep mine.

I'm guessing my benefits at just over $600.00 a month, US funds. While that isn't a substantial amount, it will allow me to get out of my mom's pocket, and with proper management, I can at least keep my own bills paid for a while including the back pay they will have to pay me. It's not much at all, but it's a step in the right direction. The hassles start tomorrow when I get on the phone, if I can, and figure out what I need to do next.
