Yo~ Long time no seee.

well not really, Its just been a really long time since I made a topic.

well I gotta ask you guys a question, I just got waitlisted for University of Michigan. Should I stick with it? I mean what are the chances? And would it be worth it and stuff. Like is a wait listed person still eligible for scholarships and aid?

I've got no idea about being deffered. So yea, anyone have any experience with this? I'd greatly appreciate the help.

I don't have any direct experience with it, but I know that universities accept more people than they expect will attend. Some percentage will decline and attend other schools, and when they do, the university will move on to the wait list to extend more offers.

So yeah... stick on there. Anything related to scholarships and aid will be just delayed at most... you'll be able to qualify once you're in.

Just keep the rest of your options open. Who knows... maybe they'll call you back and you'll tell 'em no thanks, because you've already decided to go to Michigan A&M...

My girlfriend has been waitlisted for four universities, and she's not ruling any of them out until it's too late.

So don't count on Michigan, but don't disregard them either.

If you get accepted, you'd still be eligible for aid... Scholarships are doubtful, so I would shop around at other universities if at all possible.

Also, do the FAFSA as soon as you can, because you'll probably have more money loaned to you than given to you, and that's a source of lots of loan money.

You don't have to accept the money - so it's like insurance in case you need it.

ahh, I did the Fafsa already

you guys are awesome! So that means that I can still qualify for financial aid even though I'm waitlisted? Awesome. very awesome.

And like you said Illumina, I have other schools in mind, and from the looks of it right now (not counting Michigan) I'm going UmBc whoo. I just visited it today, its rocks my socks. Such a nice school, and the dorms are outtasite. lol

Well we can only hope
The only drawback with Umbc is that it isn't that far from my house (but still a good 1.5 hour away in highway) so yep. Good stuff. And right now, focusing on doing private scholarships and such.
