How do you use shadowkeeper to check on the romance levels? and also what are the levels of romance?

Go to "Global Variables" and look for the value {NPC's name}RomanceActive. If it is 1 you're in the early stages of a possible romance, if 2 then the NPC is after you hot 'n heavy, and if it's 3 then it's all over.

If you don't find this variable, then see if you can find one named Check{NPC's name}Romance. If you can't, then your character is of the wrong race/sex to romance that particular NPC.

I am feeling stupid here. I still can't see the romance levels. can someone walk me through this?

Open ShadowKeeper
Oped the desired game, by pressing the folder-button
When it opens, open your main character (should open by default)
When it first opens, we are under the section Abilities
Open the section where it says Global Variables
Now, let's say you are trying to romance Aerie
If the romance-chatting has started, there will be a string there saying 'AERIEROMANCEACTIVE'
Behind this string, it will be a number
If it says 1, then the conversations have started
If it says 2, then the conversation have been going on for a while, and Aerie is soon ready to sleep with
If it says 3, then the romance is over

Same thing counts for Jaheira, Viconia and Anomen. If the conversation haven't started yet, though, the string '(NPC-NAME)ROMANCEACTIVE' will not show.

there is no section called Global Variables on mine. i have version 1.4.0 of sk. is there a different version that has this section?

1.4.0 is a very old version. That would explain why you don't have the section.

Get version 2.1.4, to get the Global Variables.
