I've seen talk here about SoA asking for a CD5 and you know i havent paid attention to it...until now
![]() Yeah I reinstalled BG2 SoA and it keeps asking me for Cd's 3,4 and then 5 almost immediately after another. Since the search option is'nt here no more can anyone fill me in?

I got the same problem. I merely quit the installation process and repeated again with no such bug appearing any more. So, as says Uncle Billy G., quit and try again

No corruption. You are doing the full or the recommended install??

Then I do not know where does the solution lie. I re-tried and succeeded. You should probably try to remove a line from your baldur.ini file in the installation dir referring to the location of the fifth cd (alias section), that might work.

![]() There is a whole list of trouble shooting procedures listed somewhere, but I couldn`t be bothered finding them; but these are the two I cab remember, that have actually worked for people: 1) When inserting each disk, wait for it to stop spinning. Even wait up to 2-3 minutes to be sure. 2) If you have alot of disk space, copy all the files from all the CDs onto HD; putting them in one location in the same format as what they are on the CDs- ie. copy all 4 CDs straight to the same location. Run setup.exe from there, install it whereever you like; if it works you can then delete the original directory that you copied the files into |

Eh? Well... the usual solution is as follows.
You may or may not know that each time you install a game, some residue files and folders get left behind even after you uninstall the game. Assuming you installed in the default directory, uninstall the entire game, then go to C:\Program Files, enter the folder labelled, "Black Isle" and delete the folder labelled, "BGII - SoA". Now we install. I recommend the Full Install option. As you should know, all CD-Drives have an indicator light. When the installer asks for the next disk, put in the disk and WAIT until the indicator light is stable( not flickering). When it is stable, then click 'OK'. This will prevent misreadings. |
