I talked to lothander and got his quest. when i went to umberless house she told me to get the book. I got the tome of wisdom and used because i didnt know that it was the book. I then went and killed lothander for the cure anyways but i didnt find it. Is there anyway i can cure myself or am i screwed.

You could still have pickpocketed the lady at umberlee temple or killed her. I can't emphasize enough the importance of saving the game multiple times at different stages of the game. Stagger the saves maybe every 15-30 min just incase you make a mistake some where along the game.

SPOILER........................................... ................................
. . . . . . . . . . . . . Marek is on the second level. If he's not there, then you may be screwed. You shouldn't take this quest lightly. I did with my first character and died. I couldn't get him back. Had to start all over again. Didn't have any usable saves. ------------------ Sir Taliesin ![]() If they take my gun can I still use my Axe? |

The complete walkthrough on getting the cure is:
SPOILER>> >> >> >>First he asks he to ask the Diviner on how to release him of his gaei, then after you have found that out, you'll have to visit the woman in the House of Umberlee. She tells you she needs a great book of power to make sure she does not mess up in a coming ritual. You can just steal the scroll that releases Lothander of his Gaei, or you can go to the Lady's House, and tell the priest that your life depends on it. Return the book to the woman in the HoU. You then, can try to pickpocket it back from her, not give it to her, or just kill her (and everyone else) once you have the scroll. Return the scroll to Lothander on the second floor of the Blade and Stars (I think that's it), he gives you 'half' of the antidote and tells you where to find Marek. Go to the Blushing Mermaid, second floor, talk to Marek. When he is done talking you are cured, then you must fight him. But if I remember correctly he gives you that magical Shortbow. |

Sighs! This isn't that hard of a quest to require a walk through. He realized he made the mistake of not giving the book or getting the geas scroll. This quest should have easily played itself out. I'd rather someone email one of us for help then just give a full scale walk through for a quest. People do need to learn from their mistakes so they can have the sense of accomplishing something when they complete the game. I always save constantly to a few different slots incase I do make an error. Please I love this forum, but don't think I can continue to stay around if people post spoilers on every little thing. If the person is truly stuck then I'd do anything I could to help them, but if someone just wants information on finding a person for an item that is not necessary to complete the game; I don't think is correct.
