Ok. The... emmmh... war? is over. The Afghanis are now Taliban-less (a good thing) and with a couple more craters in their landscape.

BUT, What about Mr. Bin Laden??? I mean, did he banish into the landscape or what. Although I am anti-war I wouldnt like Osama to go roaming free after what hes (supossedly) done. It would sound really unfair that the Afghanis had to pay with their houses and lives for something this guy did, and then he just went on and escaped to a different country.

I sure hope they find him, and he faces trial in a UN court of law, where there is no death penalty, and he gets life imprisonment so he can think about what hes done.

The search for Osama will have to continue, even if we have to take troops cave to cave. We can't stop too early. The Taliban have fallen from power, but the remaining Taliban and Al-Queta fighters have to be defeated or captured. They nor Osama can be allowed to roam free.

I hope Osama and his elite Al-Queta fighters decide to fight to the death. It may seem harsh, but I don't want those people tried and imprisoned for life. The entire world will never be satisfied with the trial or it's outcome, no matter who tries them or what the outcome. It's not revenge I seek, but world safety. Can you imagine hostages being taken around the world by terrorists demanding their compatriots freedom? I think they would be more dangerous as prisoners than martyrs.

There is still a huge amount of work left to be done rebuilding Afghanistan. The removal of the Taliban and Al Queta is only the first step. The price tag has been estimated at up to 25 billion dollars. If the Western World stays true to it's promises, Afghans will have a better, safer, more productive country than ever before.

As a former U.S. Army Ranger I must say that Osama will be found. I know how they operate and how tenacious they are when given a mission. They will have been training for all contingincies that could arise, and are prepared, of this I am positive. I don't know if they are there, but as the Marines are then I'm sure the Rangers would have been there first, second usually to the Special Forces. Most people, unless they have a former military back ground, really do not understand the mentality of these forces. When givin a task they forget anything else exists, and there only reason for living is to accomplish said task. So once given the order, unless they are stopped by higher ranking officials which is often the case, Osama will be found! The sooner the better I say. God Bless America!

i hope they find him and shoot him on the spot!! no need to waste money to take him to court, and keep him locked up. he has done enough to our economy as is, no need to waste money on someone like him. i wouldnt piss on his gums, if his teeth were on fire.

Assume we do get him and he gets put on trial. What country is going to be brave enough to hold him? Great Britain? If they thought the IRA was bad, wait til they see what Al Qaeda starts throwing at them. (Sep 11, anyone?) Let's hope he makes good on his promise to die for his cause.

Well, I'm not so sure myself. I hope he is found, but remember that this guy is no idiot, and no matter what training and tech US troops have, he knows the terrain, he has plenty of money, and the possibility of someone turning him in for money is nil (he is sorrounded by fanatics).

So, what I mean is. If he somehow managed to get out of Afghanistan (assuming he hasnt gotten out already), do you really think he would be found? I mean, the world is a pretty large place and if you have money and you know how it can be pretty tough to find someone who doesnt want to be found.

Anyways, maybe I'm wrong and he shows up tomorrow with a bullet in his head, who knows? What I do know is that terrorism will not stop when Bin Laden is dead, thats for sure.

I'll agree with you to an extent. Yes, he is rich and probably has a lot of contacts, but so did Noriaga. The world is not so large as you may think, intellegnce shrinks it considerably and when you have a multi-national cooperation it is a very small place indeed. I have been privy to intellegnce reports that would blow your mind as to how they could know such things, but they do. He will be found either dead by his own hand, or at the hands of an over zealous soldier. How I wish to be that soldier. Once again i say, He will be found!

They will eventually find him but I doubt that it will be the US military that will find him. Not because SF or the Rangers are not capable enough, quite to the contrary. However, I don't think that the coallition troops are even remotely near to were Bin his. If I had to guess, I would say look where you don't expect him: In the USA, in Canada or another Western country. If he's not there, look in South America! For some unknown reason, I'm expecting someone in the Bush Administration to claim that they now suspect that Bin might be hiding in Iraq!

Now, what did this war on terrorism produced? Nothing really. Most of you know that I was anti-war. Not because I believe it's an immoral act (after all, I did serve as a military officer for a few years ) but rather because thiswar was counter productive to the best interest of Western Civilization and to the best interest of the USA. Our best interest was not to replace the Talibans by another government but to get the terrorists and those responsible for the 9-11 attacks (or future attacks). By going to war, we gave them the opportunity to flee the country... bad . On top of that, we drove them back further into the shadows and, though many are not willing to admit it, we have made many more ennemies in that part of the world than we would of if we just disregarded foreign policy basis and go in to exterminate the vermins.

I was listening to the news yesterday and they were relaying part of the transcript of the infamous video that Binny made. He laughed about some of those fanatics on those doomed planes not even knowing that they were on a suicide mission! He is pure evil IMHO. I disagree with Ronn though, I think he should be brought to justice alive and then tried, found guilty, and exectued like the dog that he is. Is being drawn and quartered still legal?
