try this as well
http://www.cheapcomputer.com.au/

its a store in sydney but ships around australia. they are pretty good service (for me anyway) and decent prices.

edit: this is for comparison purposes as you may want to have buy a computer nearer at your place

i for one is out of touch for the computer hardware parts so i cant give you anything proper.

My plan for the next one I build is to buy a basic machine with decent stats, and then add what I want. The cost of the peripheral stuff (case, keyboard, mouse, floppy, etc.) is enough to make it awful hard to find deals on *everything*.

Still, there are few things like the feeling of building your own machine. The power it gives you... and the fearlessness to work on it from that point onward...

I've built a ton of systems over the years, and these days the only reason I do it is to get the components I want at a reasonable price. I'd personally much rather buy something ready to go, but in order to control component choice (Audigy, GeforceFX, Low Latency Memory, good quality and quiet fans and HS's, etc...) you basically need to do it yourself.

Unless you have the money to pay for a custom system from a top end builder... typically when it's coming out of my own pocket I'd rather do it myself and save the cash.
