Hello,
I know that you can change the difficulty levels in the options page, but, how does (does?) this affect the amount of experience received?
Are the higher levels better, then?

If you play on easy then you get hit by a XP penalty however if you play on the harder levels, it's harder but there is no XP 'bonus' per se, BUT, since you'll 'probably' be fighting harder enemies and more of them on the higher difficulty setting, you'll end up with overall more XP, Makes sense i think yeah ? If you survive that is heehee

What level do most folks around here like to play?
So, you get more enemies at a higher difficulty level (and therefore more experience)?

Likewise. Though insane isn't *really* that difficult.
You do notice that there are more enemies and they do sometimes become 'improved' versions of the monsters you'd encounter on normal or core difficulty. Eg of this is in a dungeon where you'll encounter two stone golems, on a harder difficulty, there is an added extra iron golem for your smiting pleasure.

Well, at higher difficulty, the enemies are automatically of a higher Hitdice and tougher to beat, with more XP coming with you beating them. But it's not like in IWD that you earn relatively more XP for defeating opponents at higher difficulty, no.

I susally play Hard, but it depends on what class I am. If I control a harder class, like a Beast Master, I have a lower difficulty then if I play a Cavalier.
