Anyone plan on getting this? If I could, I would buy an XBOX just for that game, but alas, I cannot. SO.. I will go rent it, and take over my friends XBOX and lock him in a room for a week or two. Muhahaha!
Anyone looking forward to THIS RPG? It's been in the works for YEARS! |

I thought it was out already. I'll be getting it for sure. Currently, I'm playing through Sudeki.

Hehehe, another Fable thread! You must really be looking forward to this, Z!
As I don't have an Xbox, I won't be playing... unless they bring it out on PC. Bummer, it looked so good ![]() |

I'll get pre-owned probably cos it's going to cost £40 in the UK and there are other good games coming out about now. Halo 2 for example but I have seen the demo and how the game was created DVD and it's good stuff! So detailed as well as you can get pesronalised tatoos and hair cuts throughout the game to name but a couple of features.

Game is very cool. Two thumbs up!
Here's my impression so far. Note that I'm only on the training section, ie, Hero's Apprentice Guild. Controls are solid save for a slight issue with the camera but it's only slight when it aims itself. Just pull on the left trigger and it centers back. The left joystick controls movement. The right controls the camera angles and pitch. I don't want to go over the details but rest assured that it's got everything there and with a little learning curve, it becomes intuitive. Graphic is not meant to be realistic. Its got nicely done colors and seems to me a tad too bright with the lighting but that too is easily tweaked in the options menu. Which BTW the options menu allows you to teak also the music, HUD alpha (whatever that is), invert on/off, volume controls, and maybe some other stuff but NO customizing the controls. It's really not needed unless you're left handed and want it southpaw instead. Again graphics are quite beautifully done. Options are abound. the two small buttons on the left side of the gamepad gives you plenty of info, ie, your experience, story line, quests, tweaking the emotions (one of my fav feature and yes you can belch, fart, laugh, flirt, etc). Just too many info in the options to list. Just like the game catch phrase says, for every action is a consequence. I've not fully experienced that since I'm only in the training section eyt I got some glimpses of what happens when you do good or bad deeds. Usually the towns people will let you know who you are. They talk about you just like a hero or anti-hero should be. So far I've only a small sample yet this game looks to be a alot bigger and will yet discover that. For example. I just saw the map of the world. And man it looks big. I was seeing the Hero's Guild dot on this larger map. Mind you, it doesn't have the same details as Morrowind such as being able to pick up everything. You can't in Fable. Yet I think it's safe to say that there will be alot for me to explore.

Well, drat and double-drat, I didn't get it this weekend. Here's why -- listen up EB Games customers.
There is a flyer in the stores with 2 specials: #1 Buy any 2 of five games (incl. Fable, Star Wars, Sudeki and 2 others) and get $20 rebate. #2 Buy Star Wars OR Fable PLUS the hint book and get $15 rebate. On the flyer, its says these can be combined. So... next weekend, I'll buy both Star Wars (out Tuesday) and Fable + one hint book. That will allow me to get $35 savings from the special above. Of course, my EB card will allow a 20% savings on the book, because it's bought with the game ($3 more). Now, by then there may also be a used copy of Fable, for $5 more discount (plus 10% discount for buying used based on the EB card -- aprox $5 more) PLUS STILL AN ADDITIONAL $5 off any used game coupon I got (Entertainment book). Count it up -- I'll get one game free plus some. If I can find a used Fable, I'll get a grand total of $35+$3+$15 = $53 total savings. Of course, I'll just get a $38 savings if I have to buy new. Either way you slice it, I need to wait a weekend. If I hadn't bought Sudeki yet, I could have gotten the deal this weekend (NOTE: because the two games plus book must ALL be on the same receipt). |
