There has been a lot of speculation about the new BIS project Van Buren being Fallout 3. Allthough the people at BIS haven't said any official word on this certain things have been said and certain questions have been asked on the Interplay forums by JE Sawyer mostly regarding combat in the Fallout games. Still that doesn't say that Fallout 3 is on the horizon. Another thing is that untill a couple of weeks ago, they had a sticky thread on the Fallout forums that read 'Fallout 3 IS NOT in production'. This thread has left the building. But still no official word. Could just have been a moderator that deleted this.

But now we have seen JE make visits to the NMA boards. In my long time run over there, their have been only a few occasions when a developer came to these boards. Those times were when they were developing Fallout 2. The second time was when they were developing Fallout tactics and the third was when Chris Avalone was working on the Fallout bible. What i'm saying is that when they are doing something Fallout related, the developers seem to come to the NMA and DAC boards to get feedback.

So is Van Buren Fallout 3 ? Again, no official word has been given but it seems very likely at this point. So if anyone wants to join in. Here's a link to NMA.

Black Isle studios is very big on vaporware.

It is obvious they are working on fallout 3, but from here it might be a couple years so I'm not sure what to make of it.

I hope it is good though whenever it does come out.

Fallout2 was the first RPG I have played, and it is my first love... I hope you are right, and I wonder why they didn't decide to make the third one sooner.

But on the other hand, do you remember Half-life? It was announced a month before it was released. Partially a reason for it being such a smashing hit.

I would certainly be glad if it turns out that F3 has been in production for some time now.
(And now I will wake up.)

New stuff get's posted on NMA about every other day so keep checking in. As long as no mod or Z tells me otherwise, i'll try to keep up and post here when new things get posted.

Now the barter skill was handled aswell as a possible science boy path through the game and the never ending RT vs TB discussion.

Now there are news post on NMA about controlable NPC's, the ability to choose different races at the beginning and co-op in Fallout 3. Not my 3 favourite subjects but some may think differently. You can still use the link in the first post.
