Trial of Ancients

I am on the 4th trial. Not sure what I am doing. I go in there and keep killing and they spawn faster than I can kill them. Then the caster up on top comes down and blasts me with fireballs and I just die. Any advice please. I am getting very frustrated. Thank you

make sure you have a save earlier than this room because there is a known bug where you return to a save in this room you will not be able to get out


Ok, if it works correctly you will kill the waves of enemies, and then the guy will come down on a platform andyoull kill him and the platform will take you up.
so no real secret theres just a lot of combat.

Yeah, thank goodness for revive option, i had enough time to kill two or three ghosts at a time before they struck me down again. Good thing you can still spent XP points when you're down.

Just keep going after them, eventually they'll all be dead, then you can make you way out of there.

From just about everyone I've read that played through this part you're going to die at least once. One stratagy that worked for some players was to get the baddies to kill each other while you are dead. And then revive yourself when it looks like they have stopped respawing. Good luck, you will eventually win out but it will take some time.

i've gone through the trial of the elders several times and i have never been killed. the first 3 trials aren't difficult but in the third one you need to keep moving.
the last room with the wizard is the most difficult but i've developed my own strategy in surving it easily. as soon as i enter the room, i kill the first few spawned spirits as quickly as possible. once the more powerful spirits start appearing i start to run around the perimeter of the room (just outside the flames) and every so often i cut through the middle of the room to attack just one of the spirits. if i don't kill a spirit within 2 or 3 hits than i just continue running around.
so long as you keep running than you shouldn't get hit by the fireball blast from the teleporting wizard and the other spirits will often hit each other with those magic missles. once only two or three are left than i just kill them normally.
this strategy might not work for everyone, but it has worked for me numerous times without ever getting killed.

It really helps if you turn on fire protection of course. I just used the Totemic Mace (4-9 dam - no bonuses) and charged it with Blade of Baal. The fight took about 2 miniutes without dying.
