Have you or do u use those race/class combinations that are
especially low on start points?

i use a mook monk, and he starts with zero points.
im still wondering if this is such a grand idea.
how would this pan out in the long run? do the disadvantages
of less points even out over time, or am i perminantly shooting
myself in the foot?
and would you ever dare to make a lizardman bishop?

curious....

Thing is, some races need 'all' the points they get to qualify for certain professions, leaving you with no bonus to apply.

BUT, that isn't always a bad thing. Under 'create character', pick a profession, then scroll through the races and asign the given bonus points to see how they do: Some races where you get no bonus actually have enough compensating factors [extra int, spd, etc.] to make them quite good...

What you want to watch out for are races that qualify with negative points (0 points isn't too big a problem, with care). That can put some combos of race/class in the hole for several levels.

It is possible to play with any mix of race and class. But some really aren't suited to the job, and make things more difficult. A first-time player is usually better off going with less esoteric mixes. Then once you know the game, you can begin fooling around with that lizard bishop and such.

Combinations with negative point values means you will have to devote your future level up points to clear that. They will still learn skills at the same rate as any other combination. It's not a bad thing. The only Gadgeteer I ever used was a Dwarf and he's deadly.
