I have about 11 more days of torment before my copy of BG arrives. I'm going to go crazy waiting for it!

HELP...

Is there anything I can do to prepare for the playing?

Not really hun, the only thing I can suggest is decide on what character you want...race, alignment, proficiencies.

But that should only take about 20mins or so, sorry there aint much more you can do!

I suppose you could always read one of the old Drizzt novels or something, get you in the mood!!!

you could look up tactics online, although it probably won't be of any use since you won't understand them until you play the game.

I'd have to disagree with Lord, play the game and learn your own tactics.

It's much more fun that way, that working out pre-designed ways to beat certain kinds of enemys.

TiliaLyn - I envy you! The beginning of BG the first time was sooooo sweet and exciting. I highly reccomend enjoying the anticipation, because it will make the game that much better. You definitely have a great support network here in this forum, so use us as you will!
There are also a couple GREAT walkthrus that I can refer you to, but I dunno if I'm allowed to mention my favorites. I'll PM you a couple of great walkthru sites if you get in a pinch.

The way I see it, don't use walkthroughs.

If you have a problem, ask on here. Thatway, you get your answer, but you keep the forum going, and allow people to see other peoples problems!

Agreed. Plus walkthroughs can be addictive - what became a quick glance to help you quickly turns into an indispensable part of your playing experience. Best avoided

Tilialyn you are so lucky to be playing bg for the first time, it will be worth the wait as some other people have already said here, there is nothing like the first time playing trough bg, so enjoy every moment as much as you can.
