I know you have read Skies of Pern - just finished it myself - I think I remember you posting that there was another one...? Either just before or just after this one. Is so, can you tell me what it is, please? Haven't been book-hunting recently and the mood is on me!

I don't know of another new Pern book. The one that comes b4 SoP is either All the Weyrs of Pern or the Dolphins of Pern, I think... Oh!!! I mentioned Ilse Witch:The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara in the same post, but that is from a different series. I think the next story will probably revolve around them - and also the building of new obsevatory on the Western Continent. And then there is still Fourth on the loose...

Yeah, they are stil young and are main characters. There will probably be many more dealings with the rest of their universe and exploration of the stars.

I'd read your initial post here about the Skies of Pern being out, which I just bought and finished, so I have to say thanks for mentioning it in the first place, as I am a die-hard Pern fan (definitely Anne McCaffrey's best series) and didn't know the book was out. Yippee! What an excellent book! And I agree with you and Fljotsdale that this definitely leaves an area open for the next book. Wish I could be on Pern!  AliCat |
