Removing Party Members

When you remove a party memeber where do they
go? When I removed Brawen to add Minsc she was right where I had left her in Nashkel. When I left Garrik in the Gnoll fortress to get Dynahier out He also was right where I left him. But later on I left Brawen in Beregost in order to pick up the Ranger out near High Hedge. When I returned to Beregost later Brawen was in the FieldPost Inn turned to stone?? I took her back and left Garrick in the same Inn. I've returned to the Inn but no Garrick???? Is there any rhyme or reason to this??? Also if Jahiera dies will Kahlid leave????

Not sure about some of your points esp. as regards Branwen, who I ditched Garrick for. Khalid and Jaheira were still in Nashkel when I arrived back from the mines (having saved Dynaheir and added her and Minsc to the party as a straight exchange for Khalid and Jaheira - I picked up Xan for party balance, although I am playing a fighter/mage she is not yet strong enough to go without armour, esp when there are bow-wielding hob-gobs around.

But generally speaking, if one member of a pair dies, the other one still sticks around. It has been mentioned on several sites as the best way to get shot of Jaheira (because apparently she's an irritating cow, although I personally don't mind her and think a Russian accent is a very cool thing to have in the party) without having to led Khalid go or (because of his cowardice) vice versa.

Thanks for the info. I enjoyed the accent at first. But this incessant whineing about new leadership is driving me to maddness.
