My reputation is 19 and my party are all either good or neutral but then theres edwin. I dont want him to leave but i know im gona get 20 rep. The problem is my guy only has 9 charisma so edwin will leave, would he stay if i cast friends to boost my charisma just before i got the rep? Or does anyone else know any other way i could keep him? Im pretty sure i coyuld just dump him and then pick him up again and itl be fine, can anyone confirm this?

Have you had him go kill Dynaheir? If you have, he offers you a year of his services, so he might stay even if your rep goes too high.

In Beregost, in the Feldpost in on the 2nd floor, there is a man named Alderon, or something that starts with an A. If you successfully pickpocket him, you can get his cloak, which gives +2 to your charisma while equiped.

In the city of BG, there is a nymph being held prisoner by a mage (IIRC, this side quest has to do with Ragefast). If you set her free, she gives you a lock of her hair. If you take this to the wizard store, you can have it crafted into a nymph cloak (also +2 to charisma).

And I might be thinking of BG2, but wasn't there a ring that sets your charisma to 18?

Question Mark

Unfortunately Edwin is evil, so if your reputation gets above 18 he will eventually leave, no matter what your charisma score or what he says.

I had Edwin in my good aligned party from almost the beginning of the game. I also had a rep of 20 soon after he entered. He stayed in my party (ME (Paladin), Imoen, Minsc, Coran and Branwen) the whole game through (including the TotSC part). He sounded like a crumpy old man all the way - but didn't leave or put up a fight. I had 19 in CHA (21 with a certain cloak). I have been told by others on this board that the reason why he didn't leave was due to my high CHA. What I do not know is: How high must the CHA be for keeping Ed in a good aligned party with a rep of 20?

Cheese??? I only mentioned how to use the +2 CHA part of it. The other use IS pure cheese. I only used that part once for other reasons than 'charming back' one of my dire charmed NPC's - I couldn't believe that the charm lasted that long!!!! IMO using it over and over (does it even have a fixed number of charges?) again makes the game too boring.

Hmmm - I just got an idea for a new solo character: The puppeteer! Using only summoned and charmed creatures. The base character must of cause be some kind of mage (you have to be able to use a wand of summoning - or: Is that wand also usable by bards?). It would also be good to be partly a cleric: More summoning spells, bless etc. Have anyone tried something like that?

How odd. I always thought a reputation above 18 causes those of evil alignment to leave. Of course, I could be mistaken.... Oh, well, maybe the "happy.2da" file isn't forcing Edwin to leave, or maybe he just likes insulting the other party members too much.
