ToSC and xp cap remover

I started a new game for a long time now. I plan soloing a ranger. I might take some tank with me though because I like bows and they are quite useless if you don't have someone tanking the opponents.

Well, to the point. Because I'll play solo or a party of 2 I will level up pretty quickly. So if I install ToSC, do I need to install xp cap remover? Do they allow you to get to the same level?

TOTSC lets you achieve a higher level than BG alone. It does have a cap, which is about 2-3 levels beyond what you'd get in BG. The XP cap remover will probably let you go a bit further, although I never experimented with is so I can't be sure.

I dislike the EXP cap for BG1 not because it's there, but because it's too low--a full party of 6 can hit 89,000 EXP when they're only 60% done with the game, forcing you to play the other 40% with characters that aren't going anywhere. But ToSC almost doubles the cap (to 161,000), so a party of 6 won't hit it until they're almost done with the game, and even then only by doing lots & lots of sidequests.

Note that if you use an EXP cap remover to exceed the cap for ToSC, that extra EXP and levels will be deleted from your charcter when/if you transfer to BG2.

Oh, thanks for the info. I thought about playing, maybe even soloing, BG2 with the same char. So no need to download exp cap removers. Thanks.
