Congrats! Well, before I attempt to answer your question, let me volunteer that you will want to: 1.) Get the free download Trials of the LureMaster (a.k.a. TotLM, TotL, etc.). 2.) Install HoW over IWD. 3.) Install TotLM over IWD/HoW. 4.) Do not install any other patches. 5.) Play IWD again; because it is AWESOME with the HoW features added!! Try parties with the improved Druid or the very much improved Bard. Play with the ALT highlight key and the different graphics settings that can zoom out a bit and make IWD not so claustrophobic. I do not know of a walkthrough for HoW or TotLM, such as you can find for IWD at sites like Mike's RPG Center. (EDIT: But I see, from the post that Calagari slipped in, that he does. Good job.) The best advice I've ever found is here on this forum. If you are like me, you don't mind being spoiled a little. I can give you a very sketchy game flow that should maximize your party's preparedness at each stage for the next challenge and ensure you don't miss out on the expansions: ~ *** SPOILERS AHEAD *** ~ ~ ~ ~ 1.) Work through IWD to Lower Dorn's Deep. Do everything up to and including placing a set of six items were they should go. Do not take the passage that this action opens. Instead, finish up any other open quests and return to Kuldahar. 2.) There is a shack in the middle of town that you could not enter in IWD-only game. Enter this shack and accept invitation to help out. You will find yourself in Lonelywood (HoW). Probe the town thoroughly and then travel to Barbarian camp. Do not initiate any violence, or your ability to complete the expansion might evaporate. You might need to return to the camp more than once. 3.) Eventually you will take a boat ride to Burial Isle and later travel to Gloomfrost; and uncover some of the secrets behind the troubles in the area. Your discoveries will lead you to confront the power behind some of the local unrest. 4.) After taking decisive action at the end of 3., you will be offered safe passage on the Sea of Moving Ice. Decline the offer, since accepting it makes it impossible to return to Lonelywood, and therefore impossible to start TotLM. Instead, go back to Lonelywood and poke around some more: There are some very valuable things to acquire and a few interesting stories to unravel. When ready, accept Stubbletoes' offer of adventure, and you are off to TotLM! 5.) Welcome to Stubbletoe's private Hell. (Well, not so private now that you are here to share his misery). Bring some light into your nightmare by buying a few of Stubbletoes unique and VERY useful offerings. You will eventually need to clear the courtyard (no small challenge), then the towers, and solve the easy puzzle that gets you into the courtyard's lower level. Explore this region to earn access to the castle proper, where more adventures await. Make sure you have everything you need, including lots of ammo, as there is a point of no return in the main castle, and some of those levels get ugly. Complete the main castle and confront the architect of your sufferings in order to be returned to Lonelywood (HoW). 6.) Again, stock up on everything you need, say good bye forever to Lonelywood, and go accept the offer of passage on the Sea of Moving Ice. Battle your way to the main boss and defeat Big *I* to be returned to IWD. 7.) Now that you are back to IWD, you are on familiar ground. Proceed to the end game as you have so many times before. ~ *** END SPOILERS *** -------------------- What's a party, without a song? Bards ROCK! Party On!! A great site that I often visit for all things game-related (in addition to IW) is GameBanshee. Their detailed walkthroughs include maps of the areas, so be warned, they can spoil you a lot. But if you're looking for detailed info, they're what you need.
You can also post here and get masses of information and discussion. ![]()
