Ive been playing IWD2 for a few weeks and are having problems getting a good party going. They are always sh*t and never get far. When choosing the features what will be better to chose. Like Dodge and Deflecting Arrows that are good but require one hand to be free which I think is pointless and risky, cause one would rather have a shield in the other hand.
I build a party with 3 fighters with almost the same stats or the same stats, and then one or two of them always k@ks off does not matter how buffed-up they are. If they lv. Up where do put the stats and the feats to buff them up. Here is my new and current party. Please help me to improve on it. Phienix Fighter level 1 Human Str 15 Dex 13 Con 14 Int 12 Wis 12 Cha 10 Skills - Concentration 4(2) Diplomacy 2 Intimidate 2 Feats Iron Will Power Attack Snake Blood Illedan Fighter level 1 Half-Elf Str 17 Dex 13 Con 16 Int 10 Wis 12 Cha 8 Skills - Concentration 5(2) Feats Dodge Toughness Sasuke Fighter level 1 Human Str 17 Dex 13 Con 16 Int 10 Wis 12 Cha 8 Skills - Concentration 5(2) Intimidate 1(2) Feats Iron Will Martial, Axe +1 Snake Blood Sone Rogue level 1 - Like to multi-class with Ranger Strongheart Halfling Str 12 Dex 15 Con 15 Int 10 Wis 13 Cha 10 Skills - Disable Devices 4 Hide 6(3) Open Lock 7(4) Search 4 Move silently ![]() Feats Iron Will Martial, Bow +1 Kagome Sorceress level 1 - Like to multi-class with Wizzard Human Str 12 Dex 12 Con 14 Int 14 Wis 10 Cha 14 Skills - Alchemy 4(2) Concentration 6(4) Knowledge (Arcane) 6(4) Spellcraft 6(4) Feats Armor Proficiency 1 Snake Blood Ayanami Druid level 1 Wild-Elf Str 12 Dex 14 Con 16 Int 10 Wis 16 Cha 8 Skills - Alchemy 2 Animal Empathy 1(2) Concentration 5(2) Feats Iron Will

I reccommend these.
1 tank with 10 dex for half plate and full plate. Take a paladin fot this one. 1 gracefull fighter with high str and dex. Fighters or dual-wielding rangers fit here perfectly. Light armors. 1 battle mage with four figher levels and weapon specialisation in bastard swords and crossbows 1 spell rain. A sorcerer with a hige charisma. Stays out of melee conflicts, uses bow. Nice talker. 1 medic. Clerics of tempus with great axes fill this role best. 1 free slot. Take a bard, he can be a tremendous boost to a party, he is a capable thief and a nice fighter. Did that help?

Thanks but can you be a little more specific on what you just wrote. What is a tank, battle mage and spell rain?

Tank - a character that's only pupose in life is to stall enemies and do/take buttloads of damage without breaking a sweat.
Battle mage - a fighter/mage(wizard or sorcerer) with good damage spells and buffs. Spell rain - a character who can dish out a million fireballs and still save the best for last.

Dude, I think your problem may be your one healer -- a druid. I use healing spells like popping pez. If you only have one healer, get one that can get more healing spells. Druids are great, but I don't think they are good primary healers.
Here's my current party that's working out okay. My only complaints are that I wish I had a bard and/or Paladin. Ranger -- dual-wield, bow, light armor Shield Dwarf -- heavier armor, but good dex so I don't overtank him. Great hit points, high CON. Mage -- straight mage, I like the range of spells. Good with Crossbow -- no melee. Thief -- straight thief, he'll pick up some fighter levels soon, I suppose. Uses bow or crossbow and tries to avoid melee. Druid -- Uses sling, good summoning spells, some healing, shape change is okay I guess (I never use it much), willing to go toe-to-toe in melee if needed. Elf priest of Selune -- good with bow, competent with sword/shield in a pinch, great healer with some good other spells. So, this is my first time through the game and this party is doing passably. The poor shield dwarf (Killor) takes a royal beating, though. With 220+ hit points, I guess that's what he's good for. |

It's Rogue, not Rouge. Rouge is the french word for Red.

interesting party, but a bit out of real focus. They are a bit of jacks of all trades(except magic!) and no doubt playing them would be fun, but they lack a real strenght. You're obviously going to have a full fighter-oriented party, but rogue/ranger and cleric are going to have too few hit points for that. A druid can get strong with shapechanging, but don't depend on it. The fighter/paladin mix is interesting and could get real strong(keep take Aasimar and only 4 levels of fighter later on not before you can take up Fiendslayer and maybe Heretic's Bane), but you need the cleric for turn undad. I say loose the first fighterX/cleric 1 and add a wizard. Keep the druid and the cleric of either Selune or Lathander, and maybe Tempus if you're into melee with the cleric. And don't bother multiclassing a ranger to a rogue, rogues are practically worthless in this game, and the ranger can do everything a rogue can. Or, better yet, take a bard.

I'm not going to tell you how to have your group. Personally, I think you have too many fighters, and certain battles will be hard later. They look like a good lot of people though, and will prob'ly be more fun to play than the "normal" groups.
