Is There some sort of patch or update for Baldur's Gate that allows it to run on a system using Windows XP home or am I just out of luck?

I dunno whether home is diff from the pro version as far as games are concerned but I can run it fine (I've got xp pro) try the patch here for TotSC. If you don't have Tales then try this link

Good luck

I have had trouble running some games on XP home but not BG or Torment. I took a lot of time to download XP compatibility updates off the XP website though to get other gamesd running.

You may also want to try the compatibility wizard if you haven't already?
