door item problems in illithid city(underdark)

After i defeated the big brain in the illithid city in the underdark(its the quest to get the blood of the drows enemies) i brought a bunch of my characters back to life. Unfortunately the items for my fighter got stuck under the door because all the doors stay open forever once you kill the big brain. I can see the items with the tab button but when i have my mouse go over it only the open door click can function, and the door stays locked so i cant get it. If you now how to get my items, then please help. Otherwise ill go to cheating to get my rightfully earned items back.

I had almost the same problem. Never did find a solution. Drove me nuts.

Cheating would be OK, but you'd better remember EXACTLY what you had, and how many of them, and how many charges they had left. I'd say it's simpler to just Reload.

yeah, that's just about* the most irritating thing in the ENTIRE ENGINE! IT DOESN'T ALLOW YOU TO CANCEL DOORS FOR ITEMS! IF YOU CAN CANCEL DOORS TO ATTACK, WHY CAN'T YOU CANCEL THEM TO SELECT A CHARACTER OR PICK UP STUFF?

yes, reload. Otherwise, save your game, reload an old save, write down all your stuff, load the stuffless game, and CLUA it to yourself.

* The actual most irritating thing about the engine is the "You must gather your party before venturing forth" audio. I KNOW! THEY ARE WALKING TO THE DOOR! THEY ARE 5 FEET FROM THE DOOR! YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME 5000 TIMES! Thank goodness there is a Baldurdash patch to kill that.
