edwin?

I am not a noob, but I havent played in a long time, and even then when I did play it was usually solo, so here is my question, I know you get edwin in the docks, but how do i initiate that meeting?

If I remember correctly you have to work for the dude that Yoshi wants you to go see when you first get to the Docks District. He's upstairs at the Shadow Thief Building. You then run a few quests to prove the evil intentions of the rival thief guild and meet Edwin about halfway through.
