does my ranger have to be a mian character to get a pet and also all i do is charm him and he will stay on my side or only for a short time

[img]graemlins/question4.gif[/img] There are no pets in BG2, but rangers can charm animal. That is their class ability, and has limited duration (and is not very useful- animals are generally weak).
Mage (only protagonist) can have a familiar - that is something like pet.
