sazerac's tip is a really good one! i love thiefsies too, but he told me about myles, so i didn't put a pure rogue in my party. i rolled up a bard, instead, who, in addition to her great abilities with music, also makes a good rogue stand-in.
also, if you look around carefully in the monastery, you can find a nice item that accentuates one's abilities with locks & traps!
