Post count doesn't matter, it just give you a cooler avatar depending upon what level it's at.

Well, cooler is in the eye of the beholder. I like my Drow Warrior avatar better when I had a lesser post count, although the Symbols of Bane and Moradin do look awesome. I know I'm gonna hate being a quintesson when I get there, and That'll last a while too.

There is a difference between moving up in post count and moving up the ranks. The ranks are subtle, based on knowledge, personality, and respect commanded. I can think of two people with less than 200 posts that I respect more than a few people with over a thousand posts.

And if you make pointless threads/posts just to boost your post count... Trust me, people will notice... and it's not exactly endearing. But if you just be yourself and not worry about post count... people notice that, too.
