Because i felt there was a lack of good bows (IMO anyway http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif ) i made a short bow that has a chance to kill a target in a single shot (who ever heard of someone NOT dying after 10+ arrows have hit him/her ??), sortof like the vorpal silver sword already in the game, however i not sure whether it's better to
a) Make the percentage chance of killing high (~ 25%) and give an easy saving throw like 0 or +2 OR b) Make the percentage chance of killing low (~ 5-10%) and give a harder save like -1 or -2 Anyone?? ------------------ Bristowe, Master Assassin "Everyone dies sooner or later, why not sooner?" |
I would probably go with B. With A you've got a better chance to hit but its easier to make a saving throw against whereas with B you wont hit as often but you'll kill easier. But thats just what I think.

Gazza, you just restated what Bristowe asked.
"With A you've got a better chance to hit but its easier to make a saving throw against whereas with B you wont hit as often but you'll kill easier. But thats just what I think" I guess now your going to assert your opinion that day is brighter then night. However, I do agree with Gazza's choice. My choice would be B, as well. Killing instantly is a big deal, and 25% seems kind high. Also, everyone but rats, children, and hobgoblins tend to make their normal saving throws. I have a sword that has slaying set at 4%. Keep in mind, the instant kill is a bonus. Its not like they get away free if it doesnt work. THey still get hit by an arrow. |
