The only thing I can think of is the Mercykiller ring. It gives a thief 20% to set traps , hide in shadows and move silently. You can get it from the bonus merchant in the Adventurers Mart.

There are also gloves of pickpocket (+20%) somewhere in the small rooms (the most rigth one if I remember) in the copper coronet, someone is standing is that room in front of the cabinet where it is in!

AH! but whats that, helps pickpockets, it doesn't help trap setting. There is are boots of stealth, cloaks of elvenkinda, rings of trap detection, gloves of pockpocketing, and a few others. I believe only the Ring from the new merchants is the only ingame item you can wear that raises your trap setting ability.
