Having not yet obtained my copy of Wizardy 8 this question may be a bit premature.
I usually have one of my characters as a rogue or thief when I play RPG's. I find their abilities to open locked doors and chests invaluable but more so the fact that they can find traps is one that I love. Does Wiz 8 have traps that would justify me having a thief type of character in my group? thanks for any feedback in advance. PS. how do you attach one of the little faces icon to the end of a sentence |
Hello,
From what ive seen traps and locks galore so yeah a thief type is probarly a good ideal, however if my assumptions are right magic types can also get around this(more of a hassle).I usually take a ninja with me who can be buffed with magic for the traps and locks. qwert |
Personally, I'd recommend a Bard...almost as good as a Rogue for being able to learn Locks and Traps AND pickpocket, but can also play those demmed fine musical instruments you find during the game! (A definite lifesaver).
Also: if you absolutely, positively, MUST have a rogue...don't roll one, just pick up Myles in Arnika. Can't miss him; he's the first character you meet there. You can actually bypass most of the chests in the Monastery (starter dungeon) and run back there and open them after you pick up Myles. -Sazerac |
sazerac's tip is a really good one! i love thiefsies too, but he told me about myles, so i didn't put a pure rogue in my party. i rolled up a bard, instead, who, in addition to her great abilities with music, also makes a good rogue stand-in.
also, if you look around carefully in the monastery, you can find a nice item that accentuates one's abilities with locks & traps! re: the smilies head on over here, where you can see all the smilies you can use with the easy instructions on how to put them into your message! :D  V***V |
thanks for the help....all input is being carefully considered. I have also noticed the importance of a bard in the demo...pretty sure I will include one in my inital group. This will be a first for me. I have overlooked the use of a bard in the past games I have played.
Oh, and thanks for the icon help vesselle,,,,, here goes.... :big grin: |
