I just found this out yesterday, and you guys may well have known about it already, but if your animal companion is hurt (and you aren't currently in combat) you can talk to your animal companion and select the Feed option, which will heal your companion to max hps. Between that and my own regeneration items, I'm having to rest a LOT less often with my ranger.

you can also "possess" your familiar, and have it hit a trap for you.......

No self-respecting ranger would use his animal companion to set off traps.

Besides, that's what the halfling is for. *points at the annoying henchhalfling*

I thought u couldnt posses an ANIMAL COMPANION!!

Isn't an animal companion, by theory, already posessed? It is just an animal teleported from a nearby area and posessed to tend to your every whim, believing that it is your friend. So technically it would be impossible to posesses a animal companion, because it is already posessed.

It's a beastmaster moment (Anybody ever see the movie?) You can see through their eyes. Feel as they feel. You are as one. *SHOINK* You have possessed the companion. LOL

Da*n, I feel like such an id10t. I've been using my healing potions to help General Jackson all this time. Jeez. I coulda just fed him. You know, I tried doing that before, but the animal never does imply you should feed him when hurt. Just that he isn't hungry now. LOL. Jeez.
