I was marching through the Marching Mountains(how convinient :D ) and a Spike Traps killed an invisible Skeletion Assasain. I didn`t know that was possible...so the over-powerness of Spike Traps goes on...
Any toughts on this?

well, delay blast fireball and skull traps hit and kill invisible too...just logical...

It's perfectly logical- just because they're invisible doesn't mean that if they step on a trap (or disturb whatever magical field detects enemies for the trap) they should be unaffected.

Exactly. Ever have your thief Hide In Shadows and then have them step on a trap? They also end up becoming visible right after they step on the trap.

Well i would understand that Delay Blast Fireball hits an enemy since it is AoE spell, but Spike Trap just killed that Assasain and didn`t even step on it.(IIRC) It just shoot somewhere in the air...

I doubt that. Just as the others have already said: invisibility is only a way for going around unnoticed for the eye.I still make sounds, I still have my weight pressing on hidden switches. So if I am invisible, I can still trigger a Spike Trap, and yes: judging from the damage it does even to the ToB final boss, I'd say a Skeleton Warrior assasin has little chance in surviving an assault like that.

I have never really used setting traps effectively.

my thief can now set time spike and some other one...but I don't know the proper TACTICS to do that (during combat)....as u have to prepare or difficult to do in the midst of combat!
Also can u set off ur own trap?

They r very powerful + effective?

You can only set traps when no enemies are around (you can set traps as long as they're neutral i.e. blue circle)
you cannot set off your own trap, only enemies can
almost no enemy is immune to trap damage and the dmg they do is pretty amazing
also time traps are a really nice toy

ok, if you're thief is BLIND, not only is your sight radius dropped to nothing, but enemy sight radius is dropped to nothing too...so you can sneak up a blind thief close to enemy, and set up traps...

ascention enemies are almost immune to spike traps...the few times i tried multiple spikes against the five they took like 4 damage...WTF???

time traps should only be cast by jan...or a high level assassin...timestop traps are best used to allow your thief mage to then cast his/her own timestop without interruption, or for a high level backstab attempt...automatic hit when attacking melee under timestop...

no one ever uses explosive traps..underappreciated...

the knockback effect is quite good, and in theory, you can set up an explosive trap to knock back an enemy among more traps or skull traps or delay blast fireballs...would be funnier than crap!!!

</font>[/QUOTE]When you say no one uses explosive traps, that's not true. I use them, and they seem extremely useful to me. What I'd do is set a time trap and then an explosive trap. Then hide in the shadows (or don't, doesn't matter much) and stand behind the explosive trap. The creature should walk towards you, set the trap off, and be sent firing back into the time trap. Then use assassination and beat the lights out of the creature :D
