Game ideas
I'm doing a computer game for my final project for my bachelors degree. At first I wanted to make a turn based strategy, something similar to Warlords 2 using C# and XNA.
However my supervisor suggested, I do something with a physics engine, preferably in 3D. He also suggested I work in F# or a combination of F# and C#, to try something different and learn a new language. Ultimately the choice remains mine, and I could insist on doing my initial plan, but I would like to try out his suggestions. So, does anyone have any ideas about a game that I could do? TIA -ZFR |

Re: Game ideas
you actualy have to make the engine and everything or did you get to use premade freeware engines and just turn them into the game you want to make?
Anyhow, i would love to see star control 2 remade as a 3d physics based space rpg (its too bad star control 3 was such garbage...) |
Re: Game ideas
Why not do both? Turn-based strategy with 3D realtime strategy battles like in the Total War series or one of my old faves, Lords of The Realm 2.

Re: Game ideas
Just becareful. Building a rpg and the system making it work is a lot more complex job than making a 3d adventure game. I knew a couple of guys in game design who made an rpg game for their final project and they ran out of time.

Re: Game ideas
The Unreal Development Kit just went free for those using it for non-commericial uses, handy for the 3d side of things although I'm not sure how compatible it is with F# and C# languages.
