how come the only weapons with a greater thaco than 3 are two handed. Am I missing something?? It just seems a bit one-sided.

I think Crom fayer(a hammer) is +4, or maybe it was +3.

Hell, Crom Faeyr is +5. Fear it, ye evil ones! There's also Cutthroat, a +4 shortsword, the Defender, a +5 scimitar (although it's unlikely you'll get to keep that one) and the Boneblade dagger +4. Also there's Gesen's Short Bow +4 and the Sling of Everard +5. But yeah, you've got a point. To paraphrase the great Minsc, perhaps the bigger they are, the harder they hit.

yeah, yeah, I forgot Crom Fayer. As for the short sword, why bother with them http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif. I was thinking more along the lines of long swords. I mean, in the skills choice, the description says that long swords are a good choice cause they are the most common and hence there are more 'magical' types. So to bad if you are a two weapon, long sword specialist, and you want to take down Kangaxx http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif

How about the equalizer, a potent longsword if there ever was one.

2 handed swords rule all! Soul Reaver, Vorpal blade, Holy Avenger etc

By and large the most powerful weapons in SoA are 2H weapons (with the exception of Celestial Fury and Crom Faeyr). ToB addresses this balance somewhat.

it says when you create a character in SoA that 2H weapons are more magically enchanted to balance the fact that you can't use your offhand when wielding a 2H weapon. And the thing about longswords being a good choice and all that. They didn't mean the enchantmenst were better. They meant that there are more WEAPONS that are enchanted. Not that the ENCHANTMENTS on the weapon were better. But hey!! Look at Blackrazor. That is not a bad enchanted weapon, even though it is "only" +3. I gave it away since I dual wield Crom Faeyr and Flail of POWER (Ages). I do play a dual-classed Fighter/Cleric you know. The easiest game so far!! =)

Kangaxx?????? There are swords that are considered more than +3 against undead.

Equalizer's not bad, but it only ever counts as +3 to Thac0 at the height of its' powers, eg. against Chaotic Evil opponents. +6 damage, though. Nice sword.
