And how do I change this thingy at the side? It's boring because everyone has one, except a few...

Oh yeah and how can I put smileys in the middle of my message? I'm having a real time with that one too... I worked out a whole 5 all by my self... See...:

Don't mind johnny, he's... well, he's just that way... not born that way, because the incident happened after birth, but that way still. Best not to ask questions about the incident.
Our most illustrious Graphics Library has all the possible smiley faces, cartoons, mini-images and whatnots, and they're quite easy to use. Like this [img]graemlins/thewave.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/matrix.gif[/img]
As for the pictures in the bottom of your messages, you need to find the picture you want on the internet(or put it there yourself via picture-hosting sites like ImageShack), and link to it in the signature using "["img"]", the link here, "["/img"]", without the "s. Imageshack will provide this form in one of it's address lines after upload.

Winterfell, the Avatar (the pic to your left) is an Ironworks avatar, you cannot replace it with one of your own.

But you can put in your own picture at the bottom of your posts (your "sig"). You have to host the pic you want somewhere, and insert it into the "signature" part of your Profile, using [IMG]tags.

Looks like you've got your answers about images and smilies already! To put the smiley where you want it, just put the cursor where you'd like to have it and plug in the code from the graphics library.

And don't worrry about being new, we all were new to forums at one time or another. You'll catch on fast and everyone here's pretty helpful. Well, except johnny, he bites... :D :D ;) ...of course that's only if you try to take his beer.... :D

Despite you're explanation Bozos of Bones, I still can't sus the whole picture URL thingy... I went to that website and the only one I could find in the format you said was

and that doesn't fit in the slot in my profile [img]graemlins/whome.gif[/img] So I'm assuming I've misinterpretted you somewhere along the way, Could you prettend I'm even thicker than you originally thought I was and give it another go... Maybe with an example, or tell me how many down from the top the one I ought to be looking at in image shack is... Or if I should be editting this bad boy or some such?

Lol, I was wondering when someone woud clock the whole winterfell thingy, it was either that or Morpheus and Dreams etc... but I use that picture for everything! I'm beginning to wish I'd gone for something from Steven Erikson now for obscurities sake...

Click on my profile at the top of the screen (below the "New Topic" button) and click on View/update Profile on the left. Put the signature picture in the Signature box.

Put the code in the place where you have "Winter is soming"

Make sure you resize it though... its too big for the <a href=http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/noncgi/rules.html>Rules and Regulations</a>
