1. My Jester is wondering if it`s possible to get a restoration spell on Brynlaw. He doesn`t have a cleric with him, but does have Jaheira, who doesn`t have restoration.
2. My undead hunter is wondering how to kill the stone golems in Jermien`s house. Party is UH, Jaheira, Aerie, and Yoshimo. All low level, just out of Irenicus` Dungeon. [ 07-20-2002, 06:55 AM: Message edited by: LennonCook ] |
Make that 5 questions...
3. I`m planning on soloing a monk... how will I get past traps without a thief ?? 4. What stronghold does a monk get ?? 5. Can a monk use scrolls such as Protection from Undead ?? |
Well i cant help with the Monk questions. I have never acctually soloed even though i have been through the game at least 8 times. But with the stone golems, they arent that hard(well not as hard as those damn clay golems) i think they can be hurt with blunt weapons like war hammers. Er... Y are you trying to do that mission if you only just got out of the dungeon?

1. There are no stores at Brynnlaw, except the Temple of Umberlee (?). If they dont sell it there, then no, you cant get one.
2. Stone Golems requires +2 weapons or better to kill. 3. Monks can detect traps, though they cant disarm them. You'll just have to avoid them. 4. De'Arnise Keep, same as the Barbarian and Fighter 5. AFAIK, nope, they cant use scrolls. ;) |

A monk can use Protection from Undead, if it's the green scroll. Anyone can use them.
And to clarify something.. There IS a shop on Brynnlaw. It's hard to find, but it's definately there. |

The shop on Brynlaw is just north of the guildhall and no its not marked. Its a corner house, not difficult to miss.

I never had trouble finding it. I found it by mistake the first time round and have used it ever since. It is VERY usefull if you have stuff you want to sell and have to wait till your in the underdark to get rid of them.

1) Go to the Temple of Umberlee and BUY THEM OUT. If you don't have a Cleric, you might be in trouble, as there are no, repeat NO Temples in Chapter 5. You'd better have at least 1 Rod of Resurrection as well. The shop is Brynnlaw is mostly for selling stuff, but they have some nice new spell-scrolls there as well.
2) That's not Jermien's house, that's Rayic Gethras's Estate. Stone Golems require +2 weapons or better. 3) Cross your fingers and depend on your Magic Resistance. 4) de'Arnise Keep 5) ALL characters, even Wizard Slayers, can use Restoration scrolls and the green Protection scrolls. Monks can even use Priest scrolls, although those are admittedly quite rare. |
And another..
In the underdark; where do I go to meet Andalon ?? My save has me right outside the Mind Flayer Dungeon, and I can`t find anything else in here but the merchant, and a portal that keeps summoning Earth Elementals. |
lol
Go north of that, you shoudl have already passed the Kua You'll coem upon and stoned area (blackish purples stones) Go north, it leads to adalons alirs, make sure you have the Sun Gem from that gnome Don't go south, it leads to Ust Natha, and your not ready yet. BTW FYI: Buy a freedom scrool from the dwarves, and cast it (no one inpicitcular) north east of there area, a waizard comes by and gives you a quest to get a book backf rom the innkepper gnome, do it and he goes into the portals, kills the thigns inside, and brings lots of treasure, of course, his greedy little hands won't give it up without a fight. |
Maxamus has his directions wrong, and he doesn't seem to understand Spoiler tags.
Moving around in the Underdark is difficult, as it's so dark in there and the paths between the rock formations are rather twisty. Make SURE you send a Stealthed or Invisible character around to reconnoiter the area before you send your party into what chould be dangerous--but be aware that Kao-Toa can see ANYBODY, Invisible or not. The quickest way to Adalon's place is to go to the North part of the map. But you'll have to go do a quest in the Northeast first. |
Spoiler Alert
- - - - - - - To talk to aldorn you first have to go the north east past a bridge to a gnome/durgar village and in a building there'd be a mayor. Talk to him and he'll tell you that to get to aldorn you need a light gem from him which he will give you after you have killed a demon and closed the tunnel for him. Thats about it. And Aldorn's lair is located to the very north west. There'll be a fork(i think) just take the left path. Hope it helps ! |
Ok, how do I sleep in Ust'Natha ?? My Jester`s fatiqued, Edwin has 3 HP left, and I have no spells memorised... and sleeping outside= Being Attacked.
