I want to find out the answers to these questions before I play it. I have the game but I currently can't play it because my PC is crap and the new one hasn't arrived yet.

1) Ewoks. Y'know, the cute cuddly bears with bows and catapults? Yeah. Well, can you be one? I'm guessing not, but ah well - they are so cool! If you can't BE them, can they be in your party? If not, do they actually have ANY role in the game? I will not stand for a Starwars game without Ewoks

2) How many people can join your party? I THINK I heard my friend say 9 or 10, but that sounds outrageous to me.

3) Is it multiplayer? Or is that only on Jedi Academy?

4) It's supposed to be an RPG. Does that mean it rolls dice for attacks or decides combat using probability? Or can you actually zoom around the place, jumping and swinging the good ol' lightsaber around?

5) Weeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Thanks in advance

Link 05-23-2004 05:36 PM

1) No Ewoks.
2) There's a total of 9 or 10 joinable NPC's. The party has a max of three persons, though, so you'll have to pick carefully
3) No multiplayer
4) Rolls dice for attacks.

Sythe 05-23-2004 05:47 PM

What link said ^^

It is a very good game! Go to the store and buy it NOW......what the hell are you waiting for! Stop reading and get your arse off the chair and go BUY IT

Cienden 05-23-2004 06:04 PM

Ewoks? You have to be kidding me.

As for the dice, yes, but it's still fun. If you use crazy feats and the Force, it kinda can feel like an action game. Frankl, I prefer the RPG style cuz my aim isn't always too good in regular action games.

Anyways, yes it is a VERY good game!

the mighty stamar 05-23-2004 08:01 PM

This game is excellent.

There is a wookie planet but no ewoks. There is a wookie npc.

There are 9 npcs, you can have any 2 in your party with you.

You dont jump.

Paladin2000 05-24-2004 01:49 AM

4,000 year ago, Ewoks have not evolved from Teddy Bear to what they are now.

It is one of the best Star Wars games I have ever played. Do yourself a favor and get it now, then take your time to finish the game enjoying every minute of it and wait for the sequel (next year). :D

Jaradu 05-25-2004 11:27 AM

Cool, thanks for the answers guys

Slythe: I do have the game I did state that on the first line

Paladin: Ewoks? Evolution? The whole point of evolution is to adapt to make yourself perfect. Ewoks have already achieved this goal, so they need no more evolution :D

Oh yeah! I'm gonna make the best Jedi ever! Encouraging justice and glory! Yay! When I complete that.... It's time to go evil :D
Ooooh yes I can smell it now - the burning flesh as an EEEVVVVIIIIILLLLLLLL Jedi gracefully twirls the spinning rod of destruction +4 (aka Lightsaber)...

Hmmm... I just wish the damn computer would arrive so I can play it :(

Thanks again, guys!

Paladin2000 05-25-2004 01:02 PM

Here is a tip for you:

Do remember to visit Yavin station one last time before going to the-place-where-you-cannot-come-back. You will know what I am talking about when you have played the game sufficiently. ;)

[edited]
And also several tips (I am feeling generous today )

- Choose your path early. Dark side and light side each have their own advantages and disadvantages. If you switch, say from light to dark side later, your Jedi will be weaker than "pure" dark side Jedis and vice versa. If you have a change of heart in the middle of the game, I would advise you to either restart your game or fnished the current one as it is and try a different path in the next game.

- One handed or two handed Jedi. Due to the limited skills/feats available, you better consider the advantages/disadvantages early and going along with it.

i doubt that.. i have one dark force mastery that helped me alot millions of times througout the game (the rest is good force). it sure didnt make me weak.

minor spoil:
speed + rage (both force mastery) = killer :D

hmm... waitaminute: i think i was talking about jedi acadamy 2.. doh!

Paladin2000 05-26-2004 04:52 PM

Well... I was experimenting with the idea of switching to the dark side in the middle of the game and I found that The "good" force powers like heal and etc. are rather useless for a dark jedi, therfore I concluded that I would be better off play a dark charcter right from the start and choose the appropriate force powers to go with it.

Don't get me wrong, if you play your cards right, you still can beat the game if you switch side half-way, but IMO it is less powerful than a jedi who remain light or dark all along from the start, unless you knew that you are going to switch side early in the game and choose the appropriate force powers to anticipate for the benefit of the opposite alignment once you switch over. But doing this will also means that your character is at a disadvantage in the begining because he/she is using force powers of the opposite alignment.

Anyway... how you play the game is up to your liking, but if I am going to play on the light side (for example), I would rather invest on force powers that are either neutral or beneficial to my alignment and vice versa. A dark jedi would better off using med packs than to "waste" force points on trying to heal himself/herself with force healing... just my 2 cents. ;)

I want Ewoks in Kotor 2...

Kotor 2: Happytimes on Endor

Would be cool if you could be a Dark Ewok Jedi, land on Naboo and get to destroy a Gungan Colony...

CerebroDragon 05-26-2004 10:09 PM

I wonder if I'm the only one as a kid who watched the original trilogy and wanted Chewwie to actually EAT Ewoks?

The fact that Storm Troopers get outsmarted by those uber-walking Koala's really frustrated me. :D

Having said that, KOTOR fascinates me and reading about it makes me more keen to play it.

Harkoliar 05-26-2004 10:33 PM

Kotor 2 screen shots ... i must say .. looking good ;)

*Ahem*...those are the screenshots (LucasArts) of KoTOR II... But feel free to post screenshots of KoTOR as a teaser of those who haven't played this great game. :D

[Extra Stuff]

Jorath Calar 05-27-2004 05:13 AM

you'd think if they were releasing a new game they would at least use the engines full potentials... where are the shadows in those screenshots ?

Harkoliar 05-27-2004 09:25 AM

yeah paladin... dont let all your hard typing go to waste . those are really good topics if i can remember.

edit: i actually said that in the previous thread. lol. oh well..

Paladin2000 05-27-2004 05:23 PM

Yes you did, Harkoliar. ;)

Anyway, I am glad that they are still using the old engine. At least I don't have to spend a lot of money to upgrade my PC just to play KoTOR II.

Luvian 05-27-2004 08:32 PM

Well... that girl in those screenshots is my light side jedi from KOTOR 1.

I tried taking screenshots, but I gave up because I couldn't figure out what's the button to push that automatically make screenshots in the game folder, without the GUI, and because I can't move the camera that far away from the characters.

Jazzybelle 05-28-2004 03:03 AM

Here's my Hint:
Save the Bons you get from the Swoop Race on Tatooine.
Win the Card Game against the Rodian on Yavin till hes out of Money, he will offer special prices then.
Sell the Bons to him and youll get enough money to buy some nice stuff early in game

johnny 05-28-2004 04:08 AM

If only that Rodian on Yavin was so easy to beat in Pazaak, he seems to have a card for everything. It's the toughest Pazaakplayer to beat in the whole game. I usually leave that spacestation with a loss.

But it's no big deal, cause after my third visit i always have what i came for. ;)

Paladin2000 05-28-2004 05:05 AM

To beat the Rodian in Yavin station, you will need all +/- cards. This is a huge pain because you will have to travel to several planets to buy or beat other Pazaal players before gaining good +/- cards.

And remember, always save after winning each round. If you lose in the next round, reload and try again.

Sparhawk 06-06-2004 12:28 PM

`When looking at the different star wars games I find that only very few are worth playing...

Star Wars Galaxies...wich I havnt tried!
KOTOR...with a great storyline and RPGstyle
Jedi Academy series...for the actiontype

I personally find KOTOR to be the best so far..simply cause of the RPG aspect and storyline.
But I do get those goosenumbles all over my skin when I destroy dark Jedi in Jedi Academy...nuthin is better to do a flip over a Dark Jedi and cutting off his head *LOL*
In KOTOR the action is okai...but it is downplayed compared to Jedi Academy.

I DOOOO want to play Galaxies...but first I need to overcome my aversion against playing/paying for a game on the net...yeah yeah I know 10 bux a month is nuthin...but my mind still reeels from the idea of paying money for the game...AND pay money to play it after...*sigh*

Kazilan 06-07-2004 04:11 PM

Ive heard so much about this game, i want to play it. But I need to know if my computer can handle it at all, since my processor speed is below the minimum specs and I wont be getting an upgrade anytime soon.
P3 800mhz
512 RAM
Nvidia geforce2

What do you guys think, would it be playable at all?

johnny 06-07-2004 05:26 PM

Pentium 3 800 ? Sorry dude, i'm afraid that's not going to cut it. You could probably run it, but that's about it.

Paladin2000 06-08-2004 06:21 AM

The game will run on GeForce2 and 512 MB RAM, but your CPU is a little slow. It will run as long as your turn most of the details down to lower settings.
