Well if you dont mind taking up two of your hands for a good cause you can travle out to the Mesa Shammeus Egg Mine where theres a fallen hero with a nice Daedric Dai-Katana.

Ebony longsword in the vaults at redoran in vivic just taunt the 2 ppl out side to kill them then take thier keys (may take a little while to get orddies to leave, but they will)

Daedric longsword random drop from dreamora lords sry im not sure where theres a guarenteed
one but im sure kakero does he'll post on this im sure im sure that you'll get a link from em'.

Go check underneath Ebonheart, there's an underwatercave that will lead you to the best sword in the game.

JMO: that sword sucks compared to a daedric Dai-katana enchanted with health suck...

Not really complaining about Chrysamere, just don't want anyone to get overly excited, then be dissappointed.

And it seems to me the higher you have the difficulty, the better the chances a dremora/golden saint will drop daedric katanas, longswords, dai-katanas and tower shields.

Course, that may be just because there are more dremoras and golden around...

Let us note also Goldbrand. It's one-handed, very efficient, and easy to get. Check the Boethiah Daedric Quest for more details. Hint: The book needed in the quest is "Boethiah's Glory" and you can buy it at Jobasha's.
Right, I am not about to state that the Daedric Dai Katana is worse [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img] I want to add a one handed alternative.

But do you really need a sword with healthsuck ? I mean....come on, the game is too easy already as it is. From all the NORMAL swords in the game, enchanted and unenchanted, Chrysamere is the best sword, period. You don't really need to put enchantments on Daedric swords, unless you enjoy being able to play a game with one hand tied to your back, and four fingers from your other hand up your nose.

Actually Johnny, Chrysamere is the best Dual Handed Long Sword. don't get that mixed up with single handed long sword.

Lol! dont worry Kakero thats a good complament and Chrysamere is well worth it but self enchanted can be better (Very expensive though)!,but again that can be solved if you use the console commands to give you the right amount of drakes to "Getter dunn"-Blue Collar Comedy Style

Well, yeah: it IS possible to create a weapon or other enchanted item thats just TOO good, thus un-balancing the game even further.

BUt supercowman was asking for a better sword than the glass long, which is really a pretty decent weapon.

And I remember hearing so much about the coolness of Chrysamere before I got it in my first game that I was really pretty bummed by its acutal stats.

thanks for your posts but I'm only a level 11 wood elf scout.... I need a good weapon that is a little easier too get, I mean I've killed my fair share of Daedra but all I find are Dwemer swords and claymores, I really need a new stronger and more sturdy sword because I have to repair that thing all of the time... ugh! but it is still a pretty good sword. and by the way I'm not very far in the game... I'm still asking Huleeya and co. about the sixth hous and the Neraviane cult. so any help is appreciated!

In that case, go to the guardtowers in Balmora. In one of em you can find the sword of white woe lying on top of a dressser. It's guarded though, so you have to steal it when the guard is looking the other way. At level 11 that shouldn't be a problem though, i usually steal it at level 3 or something. It's not a supersword or anything, but it definitely helps you out good until you're ready for a "real" sword.

Or enchant something with bound longsword: nice damage, weightless, bonus to long blade skill, and self-repairing...

I enjoyed using Ice Blade of the Monarch which you can get from an Imperial Cult quest from Latila Vsomething (I wish the dang names in this game were possible to remember!) in the Ebonheart chapel.

Since you're only level 11, I would recommand that you get some fortify strenght potions and head on down to Dren's Plantation. There's a row of little shacks and you enter the ones along the right side (they're on the right if you're looking at the main buildings) there are people inside whose butt you could kick and take their goodies. if you kill them, it won't alert anyone and they have some nice weapons. among them you'll find an ebony long sword or broad sword. I don't remember which one. still, it's a nice sword and not as fragile and the glass sword.

ok, first of all I having been woking furiously and I am at level 15, and in the tower of dusk at Ghost gate, there was a chest w/ an ebony longsword in it!!! yay

i got umbra sword, that kept me going for most of the game. was a git to get though!

that kills most creatures in one hit, only the hardest bosses seem to be able to stand the punishment!

ok ummmmmmmmmmm........ I kinda started drooling when you said, "in one hit" BUT!!!!!!!!!! ya' didn't say where to get it lol I would be very much obliged if you would tell me where i could find, steal, or kill for it.

Umbra is in the hills above [just east, I think] of Suran.

Leave town going along the coast, then explore the valleys that run up into the mountains, back towards the city.

Be warned, though: to get Umbra's sword, ya gotta kill Umbra, a powerful Orc wearing full orcish armour. He isn't too bad IF you have a good ranged weapon and never let him get near enough to you to get in a lick [after your initial conversation, that is]: his sword will likely finish YOU in one lick, too...

Definetly save before picking this fight...

hey oru, what are the stats on the umbra sword... i've considered going after it, but my personally enchanted daedric dai katana kills even golden saints in one hit if i sneak up on em... so what does it do? and... where is your difficulty slider set at?

Can't remember the damage, I'll check and post back later. Odds are your dai-katana is as good or better. Chrysamere is actually easier to get, IMO.

Umbra's sword casts soul trap, but when used, not when strikes.

I leave the slider at around 60 till my characters are level 10 or so, then move it up to 100, or whatever the max is.

MEGA SPOILER:

1) Found an amazing longsword: White Hart Sin (Sp?) that drains health and has over 2000 charges. Does good damage as well... sorry i'm a newbie ;p
But its free and takes no effort.

It's in the Balmora Western Guard Tower top floor on top of a cabinet. (u can just see the handle). Sneak is needed to avoid the guard.

2) All kinds of amazing ebony and glass weapons and armour and helm and shields are in a vault in Redoran Vault, Vivec. You need the key from a rich woman in one of the Darius(sp?) Mansions next door. Goto top floor and sneak to steal key in cabinet. Then goto vault, open door. Wait for guards to go... close door and take freely as much as you can carry... an axe is worth 15000... [img]smile.gif[/img] There are something like 100,000 worth of gold there + normal money as well.

1) that sword isnt that good, and its pretty widely known about. in fact, someone already mentioned it in this thread.

2) if you rob the telvaani and hlaalu vaults in vivec, then you'll find just as much loot, although you have to sneak a little more to get to it (and in telvani you have to fight two atronarchs). also, go to the ghost gate and you'll find a fair measure of loot to steal there too, although, again, you will need good sneak to get it.
